Hello, this is my build for 2014.
As you can see, I went with the sleek black/red colour scheme. This is my second build to date and I am very happy with its aesthetics.
I have yet to OC my componenets as I plan on doing so in the future.
You got some pretty good deals on some of these parts.
I know right? I searched Earth's magma chambers and the abyss of the Amazon jungle to find some of these deals.
lemmi touch that keyboard of yours
Amazing build , loved it !
i want to take the same case for my build which m gonna do it in coming months , and i think it just loooks amazing with those Red LED fans and the black case , thanks a ton for sharing your build !
Thanks for the feedback man! Good luck on your build; post pics, I'd like to see them!
Also another thing i was curious about , ur case from the inside has lit up pretty well , so i just wanted to ask you is it because of NZXT Hue and those red fans ?
Also i may end up taking only either of those , a good set of 4 fans , all RED Leds that should cool my case or i'll simple take a NZXT Hue and forget the rest.
What do you recommend ? i know lightning can do nothing but the said purpose.
Also i was curious to know how would your case lit up with just the light from those LED fans , can you post some pics , which does not have the NZXT Hue lightning / switch off. So that possibly i could understand how much good they are in that department.
I Emphasise a lot on aesthetics , and really love it if the case looks good both , inside and out.
So wanted your help regarding these points of mine.
I can tell you that without the HUE my case would not light up as well. I can almost guarantee if u went with non-LED case fans and just the NZXT HUE for lighting you'd get great results. In that situation, however, you wouldn't see so much lighting form the outside on the fan mount areas, but you see plenty looking from the outside at the window. I had the fans only for about two weeks and decided there wasn't enough lighting around the window/GPU area so I went with grabbing a HUE. I can't say i regret spending the $30!
I really like this build, great color scheme and part selection. $1500 may seem like a high price for the parts you got, but it's a steal considering you have the monitor, mouse, speakers, ect listed. +1
the build prior to the periphs were like if not in the high 900s, just a bit over 1k.
actually may have been around 1100
Yeah I just looked it over again, and the main components like video card, processor, mobo, and ram are all really cheap, but the case and fans seem to bring the overall price up about $200. Still a great value none the less.
That's a lot of fans.... Nice build +1
Thanks man. Yeah this case is a beast! lol
Wow nice desk and chair I love it!
Oh and nice build too
haha thanks! i do prefer s desk without a hutch though, i may get that later.
Beast build! I have the 270X as we'll for the new rig I'm building, but I haven't started building it yet. How is it?
It is a really nice card, can run most if not all current gen games!
That case is so beautiful!
How did you power all the fans?
The Phantom530 comes with a fan control; it is mounted where the cable management routes are. I believe it has.. 10? 3pin ports.
How's that GPU playing games?
I'm gonna be ordering parts for my computer soon, and I was pretty set on buying the ASUS geforce GTX 770 2gb, but I've been seeing the R9 270x pop up a lot in the past couple of days. Which one should I get?
r9 270 x
lol a little late. got the 770 and its more than good enough. LOVE shadowplay.
the only thing i would have changed is the monitor
please repply to my email. email@example.com, what fans did you use for the case fans? and how many fans can this case hold? and what sizes?
Parts in the uk are so expencive cos an i5 in the uk costs like £150 which is like $250. it sucks so i had to get an amd 6300.
Did you have problems with the CM 200mm fans when installing. Am asking because the NZXT PHANTON HAS WRONG SPECS DOES THIS HAVE TOO.
did you have problems with placing the h100i?
An amazing build, except for the monitor. A 7 millisecond response time 60hz and 1080p for $150? There are way better options out there. Nonetheless, an awesome build!
Good cable management and overall looks and good part selection, for the most part. I am curious about two things; what's this build for, and why did you go with Ivy Bridge over Haswell? If it's strictly a gaming rig, I would probably suggest a more robust GPU, but it's not a major issue.
Thanks for the comment! I went with the Ivy because of two reasons. The performances between the two are practically nonexistent when it comes to what I use my PC for. Two, the biggest reason, was it was only $149.99 at the time I purchased it whereas the Haswell bridge was $219.99. As for the GPU, I do not play too many demanding games; the most graphic intensive game I play would probably be BF4, but I rarely play it. I spend the majority of my time playing LoL, which I run with 200+fps on maxed out settings with the 270X. I mainly build my PCs for fun as I really like paying attention to detail. =)
I play LoL too!!! High Five
I play LoL too! Three way high five
Very solid build btw
Wouldn't that be a high five cubed? -hi5³-
-hi3- haha thanks.
my brother plays lol, and once i get windows i'll play lol too!
Yes $70 is saved
