Description

my first pc build for myself! FINALLY! I was so bored of upgradin' other's pc while at home I was playin on a intel hd 4000 so I started to look around to find some cash and here it is, not that special but I'm super confortable with it! Great everything, the mobo has some really nice cool features and their XFAST everything works (yes I was preatty unsure about it), my 4670k reaches an overclock of 4.4 easily (incredible for that hyper 212 evo) and the graphic card is a beast of a card (not overclocked yet). I obvoiusly use that ssd as my main drive and I'm really intered in buyin' another one to cache the hard drive. Only one thing scares me, I read about strange noises coming from some xfx 650w psu on the internet and initially I was not going to buy it, then looking at the price and thinking about the rma possibility I bought it... I tested it for days and sometimes it is a bit more noisy because of the fan spinning like a rocket but it's not that frustrating.. so I think that I was lucky with mine :D

Excellent build! Happy gaming. :)

Nice build! Is it just me, or is that GPU sagging a little bit..

RiftDM submitter 2 Builds 1 point 18 months ago

yes it is but that directCU II cooler is very heavy... they placed the backplate behind the card but it's not that solid as I thought

Zeus 1 Build 1 point 18 months ago

I've heard of people using "ninja wire" or something to hold up their GPUs so they don't sag, I'm not sure exactly what it is or how it works. But you should look into it :)

great one! I'll search about it ;)

gpus that sag just make me cry....

RiftDM submitter 2 Builds 1 point 18 months ago

I still hope that the direct cu II cooler on it one day will transform into something lighter

TNTrocks123 1 Build 1 point 18 months ago

yeah especially the backplates maybe... the blackplates shouldn't be that thick

Just a suggestion put the hard drives in the top bays so then there is better airflow, or you could move the fan up one slot.

those photos are pretty old, in the meanwhile I worked a lot on the build, added an intake fan and also solved the saggin' problem of the 770, but thanks anyway ;) next mod is to cut a full windowed panel

I don't understand why you bought the psu after reading bad reviews about it. Other than that good build.

RiftDM submitter 2 Builds 1 point 18 months ago

because not everyone was having problems, it was like the 50% of the buyers.. and I'm fortunately in the lucky 50%

Nice build, but i would defiantly switch out that power supply with something more reliable.

animusvox54 6 points 18 months ago

XFX is actually pretty reliable...

xBlood_Monkey 10 Builds 5 points 18 months ago

What's wrong with that XFX?

Spencer1012 2 Builds 4 points 18 months ago

Nothing. It's a rebranded Seasonic, I think. At least XFX puts out many rebranded Seasonics.

Their PSUs are top of the line, especially the PRO series.

xBlood_Monkey 10 Builds 4 points 18 months ago

I did some research and jonnyguru gave it a 9/10. I don't believe this specific model is a SeaSonic inside, but that's not to say it wasn't influenced by their designs.

Spencer1012 2 Builds 1 point 18 months ago

Ok. I thought that XFX made a lot of Seasonic units and I figured that their PRO series, if any, would be likely to be Seasonic.

Regardless, it's a good PSU.

xBlood_Monkey 10 Builds 1 point 18 months ago

Their PRO Series is probably SeaSonic, but this PSU isn't in the PRO Series.

Sorry for such a late reply, but its just i haven't had the best luck with these. Ive actually had 2 fail on me before, and I guess that's why I said switch it out. But that's only my opinion. I mean some people may love XFX and use them in every build.
