Why did you go with second gen items? Cpu and motherboard?

The i5 2500K has a higher overclock ceiling. And the Z68 is a solid board.

Cheaper and not much performance difference. Although I would've preferred USB 3.0 headers... in retrospect...

Not much in performance i would agree, but compatibility wouldve been better; ie USB 3.0 hearers, native pci gen 3 and sata 3, there are some great z77 mobos out there, good build though!

PCIE 3.0 isn't really... useful. SATA doesn't change from chipset to chipset. But the headers... yeah...

yeah, but usb 3.0 isnt really useful either, what would you use it for?

USB 3.0 is a LOT faster than USB 2.0. What do I use USB for? Well, I have: - Three thumb drives - Two external hard drives - Couple mp3 players - Phone

Transfer speeds are much higher there.

Should have flipped the CPU cooler around so "Cooler Master" was upright, haha.

I wasn't even going for that, but it turned out well.
