Description

I've been trying to put this build together for a while now (mid-2011). There's been several setbacks but I'm proud to say that I'm finally done with the main hardware of this build. My next goal is to invest on a water loop in the short future.

Why only one monitor? Well, I thought about buying 2 more of this monitor. But I've decided to wait on decent 1440p monitors to start entering the market.

Why RevoDrive? I got it for cheap.

Why LGA 2011? Eh. I fell in love with the motherboard. And no, I don't need it at all. Want vs. Need.

nice build!

tell me, how are the colors on that monitor? saw one at the store and was not very impressed. in its defense, store set up isnt really very good. would appreciate some input. thanks!

Colors are alright, fine for gaming, if you plan on photo editing, go for ips or pls. If you want 144hz, get this or spend a bit more for the benq one. the benq one has better colors but is more expensive.

Thanks! And what Hakumisoso said. I love it because all I really do is game and watch movies, but I wanted the response rate more than picture quality.

at least you're honest about the 3930K.

overall, it looks like a really nice setup, but i'm not sure why you went with a $200 wireless-AC card.

Chaebi [Submitter] [1 Build] 1 point 9 months ago

Oh crap. Thank you for mentioning that. I meant to add the AC router from Asus, not the pci card.

lol good to see you didn't actually overpay for that

I hope you can run everything, you kinda cheaped out on the graphics cards.

+1.

How is the Mionix mouse? It's on my want list and would love to hear your opinion!

Hey! I've had it for about a week, it was recommended to me by a friend. Previously, I had the RAT 9, and it's been alright for the longest time but there are issues with it that are usually fixed with a USB disconnection and re-connection. Oh and its recently developed a tracking issue, so I looked around for a replacement. So far, I believe that the Mionix is by far the most comfortable mouse I've ever held. Anyone say so otherwise, they're lying! The sensors are better, plenty of customizing options and rather easy to adapt to. It's quite large, which I prefer because it sits well on my hand. I should note that my friend has the 5000 DPI version. They're effectively the same mouse, but the 8200 DPI comes with an updated or newer sensor. The 5000 DPI has a weight system, to which I'm pretty bummed that the 8200 does not. So, whichever one you prefer to have: sensor vs. extra customization features, should be the deciding factor for you. Hope this helps!

Awesome build! Probably could've saved some money by going 115x route. But as you stated, Want Vs. Need.

That mobo was $480 and that cpu was $220?!?!? I'm confused.

Chaebi [Submitter] [1 Build] 1 point 8 months ago

Not the original rampage. The Black Edition comes with one, though. Sorry for the late reply lol.
