Payed 417 total for everything and made it in nov 2013( actually purchased everything before black Friday around the 14th). Still need a video card, any suggestions?nothing more than 200 though. bought the hard drive on craigslist and had a spare dvd writer. Other than that everything else was new. 2nd build (1st build was an amd phenom and black and red with a sapphire 7770, it wasn't the fastest but it was alright) Much more satisfied with this build though :D

Intel Core i5-4570 3.2GHz Quad-Core Processor
CPU Clock Rate3.2GHz
CPU Temperature While Idle29.0° C
CPU Temperature Under Load50.0° C

good for the price. I would go with one of the 1gb gddr5 cards if I were you just to avoid having to upgrade too much later.

Maybe this one? http://pcpartpicker.com/part/gigabyte-video-card-gvr785oc1gd

That way you can upgrade with crossfire later on if you want.

I'm not looking to crossfire. I just want one single card that is powerful enough to play high on most new games. I was thinking of getting a 2gb one but that might be overkill since my monitor is only 60hz. Also one that sorta matches my scheme color . Thx for the comment

Why did you spend $50 on a CPU cooler when your i5 is not unlocked? As for everything else, you got a really good price overall.

the cpu cooler only cost me 22 dollars because I got it on sale with a rebate. I left the current prices in case they lower so others who are building a pc can watch the prices

If you can go about $10 over $200 a 270x is a great option

I would recommend at 7870. You can find one on sale for around $180. GREAT sweet spot in price/performance ratio and can run most if not all current gen games. good luck friend :)

Get an R9 270. Its better than the 7870. It supports Mantle. It can max out games and when OC'ed, it will perform better than the 270X. I believe its $180.

Nice build , if u arent overclocking this is more than enough. For the gfx card i would highly suggest a R9 270x for the price of arnd 200$ since it performs exceptionally well , and is slightly more in performance than the 7870. if u are an nvidia fanboy , least you would need to pick up is gtx 760 , which is just marginally better than the r9 270x , but it comes at a more price.
