WOW. good job man! i was planning on using the same/similar parts. although i wouldve suggested a better psu and better brand for the GPU. great build man! also, go for ivybridge, it has better benchmark scores.

the power supply was on sale for 55. i also bought the gpu before this entire build to play new vegas on my old pre-built. the gpu is what sparked the whole build process.

quick question about the z9, is there a hole where u can feed the cpu power through near the top?

damn, my bad for taking A MONTH to get back to you.

if you're still interested (or haven't found out on your own), yes, there is.

interesting, my front panel expansions didn't need to be broken off, just screwed off. pci expansions do though.

nice build.

the first one was occupied by the temp reader and usb, the second one needed to be broken off, the others could be screwed off. thanks, you too!

Great cable management. I personally would want more of a GPU power horse, but the GTX 560 is all one needs to play current games well. May I suggest an SSD, you will love it and never be able to go back to HHD again.

i bought the gpu before everything else, before even planning on building a pc. it's what triggered the idea to build my own. before that, i was a total noob.

Sassy [3 Builds] 2 points 30 months ago

So, does that mean you wished you had sprung for a different GPU?

tehxhorace1 [Submitter] [1 Build] 1 point 30 months ago

not really, not right now. the most demanding game i have is fallout new vegas, and the 560 handles it on high settings just fine.

i'll probably upgrade the gpu come christmas, but i don't regret anything.

Why the Z77 mobo with a SB CPU? It won't take advantage of anything. If this is for gaming, I would have gone with a higher GPU vs the CPU... a 560 Ti at the least. Other than that, it looks nice! Congratulations.

microcenter deal / saving some cash.
