General purpose / gaming build. A cross between Great and Superb on the Logical Increments chart.
Parts I still need (when I can afford them):
7870, NZXT case fans, BitFenix Recon fan controller (this is personal preference).
Currently I have my old 5670 installed as a placeholder, which I will hopefully switch to the 7870 in the Summer.
Keyboard is a Microsoft Sidewinder X4 that I purchased in December 2011.
Decided not to bother with the fan controller.
Purchased a 7870 XT for £170 (bargain!), and will finish the build with the two listed fans (in the side and back-roof). Will post updated pics once this is completed.
In hindsight, I should have gone with a 128GB SSD, as the measures I need to go to to keep this one clear are unnecessary hassle. Having said that, the M4 performs really well (boots up in 10-15 seconds).
I probably could have got a better quality H77 mobo for the same price as the Z77, which I wish I had done considering I can't make use of the overclocking capabilities with my locked CPU.
Other than that, I am very satisfied.
