Description

Upgraded From NZXT Manta to NZXT S340 Elite. Needed some expansion for capture card and future SLI GPU. Only new parts in the build are the case and the GA-Z170 Ultra Gaming Motherboard. That being said this build is for gaming, productivity, and game streaming. My dedicated streaming pc was given to the misses for her gaming enjoyment. This Build is LED MADNESS, with the AER RGB Fans the Motherboard and Hue + the computer can light half of the room when lights are off. I Really wanted to exaggerate the RED LEDs so the vision was to find a black motherboard with either RED LED and or LED Controller, and the GA motherboard fit that price to performance mark.Happy Holidays and hope you all enjoy :)

Part Reviews

CPU

One of the best CPUs I have had the experience of owning. Easy overclocker, and very good performance.

CPU Cooler

Year old and still keeping CPU cold :) Great product installation is very easy and configuration in the CAM software makes it that much better.

Motherboard

IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A RED LEB BLACK MOTHERBOARD THIS IS IT!! Very straight forward motherboard to build onto and install nothing too different from the Z170 line. All features are industry standard.

Memory

Great quality RAM. Price to performance I have been very pleased. I have the profile at 3200Mhz

Storage

Bought while on sale. The price for space is unbeaten at the moment. No firmware issues nor failures 10/10 in my book

Video Card

Bought while overpriced only reason I cannot give this 5 stars. Card is great clocks are good. 1070 is a great sweet spot for 1440p gaming.

Case

This is a well though out case for the current market. - Tempered Glass - VR welcoming - Open space for Custom Loop Good Job NZXT, a simple but elegant case

Case Fan

These fans are the perfect eye catching LED Fans that they were sold as at CES 2016. they can do any and every color thanks to CAM software. My only gripe is the data wires. I'm sure they could have used thinner, more malleable data cables for the in and out daisy chain cables of the fans. This would have allowed users to have an easier way to maintain and hide the cabling.

Monitor

G-Sync 144hz 1440p Saw so many bad reviews on the QC of ASUS, but I found this through an online listing from a seller with no issues, 1yr of use, and grabbed at a fraction of the MSRP. Colors beat my Dell S2716DG and Gaming on it is a blast. 5120 x 1440p Nvidia Surround Gaming is life changing

Monitor

G-Sync 144hz 1440p Gaming goodness. Bought on sale at Best Buy, best steal I have seen on the specs.

Mouse

Owned for a year and it was my 1st actual gaming mouse, and I can see and feel the difference. Great product with an awesome warranty and support behind it

Headphones

4 years running and still kicking awesome sound like it was 2012. My Favorite headset for gaming long sessions

Oh... I don't mind. Don't tell anyone, but it's not my favorite case.

Congrats on that awesome Manta build

Thank you! Couldn't have done it without this awesome community supporting me ;-)

I swear how do people connect the aer rgb fans, hue+, and kraxken all together. I watched the video on pcpart picker but it is all confusing connecting the wires together.

I understand the confusion, and I'm sure NZXT realized they messed up having all these technologies requiring usb2 headers. So they created the NZXT iu01 usb aka Internal USB HUB turns one usb 2 mobo header into 6 usb connectors (4 internal usb 2.0, and 2 external usb connectors). its Magic
