Here I am for the final edition of Deluze. It's been a crazy ride with (of course) many troubleshooting errors and headaches. But to finally have it finished feels great.
Questions You'll Probably Ask
Q: What do you use the computer for?
A: Gaming (DotA2, Hearthstone, Batman AC, Far Cry 3, Battlefield 3, Planetside 2, Dishonored, Metro 2033) as well as video editing (both casual and work related).
Q: What are your peripherals?
A: Monitor: Dell U2412M. Keyboard: Filco Ninja Majestouch 2 (Cherry MX Red Switches). Mouse: Razer Deathadder V2. Headphones: Audio-Technica ATH-M50S. I love them all.
Q: Why do you have X79 and 850W with only a single 7970?
A: When I bought the parts for 1.0 a couple of years back, I was convinced I was going to crossfire. Now that I've water cooled, its a total ***** getting a matching block and backplate at a reasonable price down here in Australia. I think when I get unsatisfied with my framerates, I'll either buy a new set of blocks or new set of cards in the future.
Q: What are your overclocks & temps?
A: Pretty lazy for the moment. 4.5GHz @ 1.33v for the 3820 (68C max temp), and 1175/1575 @ 1.275v for the 7970 (56C max temp). If you think these could do with lower voltages, let me know.
Q: Why didn't you put a bigger radiator in the front?
A: I went with the EX240 (35mm thick) because I wanted maximum future case compatibility. Basically everything can fit a thin 240, but not everything can fit a thick 280.
Q: Why is this the "final chapter"?
A: I've decided that I'm done working on this current build. Even though the Switch 810 is an absolute pleasure to work in, I'd love to try something new and different for my next project.
Q: Can I see your back panel?
A: Let's just say the panel only just fit on.
Anyway, thanks for viewing! Please, if you have any questions about any detail in the build, don't hesitate to ask. I will answer you.
