1000$ Extreme settings capability

Description

This is why I think AMD is better for gaming than Intel. I know Intel have higher performance CPU, but AMD offer them at a price that allow you to put the extra 100$ you save on a more powerful GPU that will beat intel in any benchmark related to gaming. Don't get me wrong, I am not an AMD fanboy, I have in my own computer and intel 3570k and I love it, but when you are on a budget like this rig, you can achieve greater gaming potential with AMD since the GPU is about 80% of gaming performance! Have a nice day!

You should also take a look at this, its kind of suprising! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eu8Sekdb-IE

I made this build for a friend who wanted to get the highest setting possible in every game. His budget was around 1000$. I know I don't have any cpu cooler other than the stock one. But I dont plan on overclocking since it won't be necessary at all with this GPU.

Sorry for my english.

Not for the moment but I will as soon as I can!

DjArtifact 6 points 10 months ago

Damn, good job fitting a 770 into a $1000 rig.

zizmax 6 points 8 months ago

When not paying for the case or OS or other peripherals, it's not that difficult.

Khaem [Submitter] [1 Build] 1 point 10 months ago

Thanks! But if you take taxes into account it's more of a 1100$ build, but yea, its was kinda hard, I was scare to be bottleneck by a cheaper cpu, so I added a 50$ more to get the FX-8350.

Divdor [1 Build] 2 points 10 months ago

Like the build but would love to see the insides.

bbooiigg [1 Build] 1 point 10 months ago

This is a very balanced gaming rig. Only thing I see missing would be a cpu cooler if you plan on overclocking. Overall, great build. I hope you'll be posting pictures of the internals :).

Khaem [Submitter] [1 Build] 1 point 10 months ago

You are right for the CPU cooler, I should ask my friend if he don't mind the extra 30$ :)

nevermind13jet 1 point 10 months ago

Very good.

BiGUNMAN 1 point 10 months ago

I think a cheap cooler could be put in for better temps but overall a very good picked solid build I think

Khaem [Submitter] [1 Build] 1 point 10 months ago

Thx!

I am really liking this build, I would love to see the insides! Also did your friend have a monitor and other peripherals? As far as a aftermarket cpu cooler, check out coolermaster evo?

Khaem [Submitter] [1 Build] 1 point 10 months ago

I also need to find him a new Mouse, Keyboard, and sound system, but I'm not sure what to choose for him.

Sabotage 1 point 10 months ago

GET A MECHANICAL KEYBOARD!!!! I have this: http://www.amazon.com/CM-Storm-Trigger-Mechanical-Keyboard/dp/B009FTWL2C/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1370295999&sr=8-2&keywords=cm+storm+keyboard

As for a mouse, razer death adder is nice, I am not sure of price range. Get a corsair headset since they are built very well and have good audio quality. For a monitor I would suggest asus vs248(Thinner, no built in speakers) or ve248h(I have 3 of ve248h). Tell me how much your friend wants to spend so I can find parts for the right price(cheaper mechanical keyboards and mice)

Khaem [Submitter] [1 Build] 1 point 10 months ago

Wow nice! I will ask my friend about his budget for the peripherals and I come back to you with the answer asap!

Thx!

Sabotage 1 point 10 months ago

Okay, I love my cm storm keyboard, red switches are the best for gaming in my opinion, but to know the best you should try them out somewhere.

istealunderwear [5 Builds] 1 point 10 months ago

Just get the Cooler msater 212 evo best for the price.

Khaem [Submitter] [1 Build] 1 point 10 months ago

I will ask my friend if he don't mind the extra 30$

Khaem [Submitter] [1 Build] 1 point 10 months ago

Lightdrive 1 point 10 months ago

What OS is he running

Khaem [Submitter] [1 Build] 1 point 10 months ago

Windows 7 64 bits, Should he go for Windoes 8?

Lightdrive 1 point 10 months ago

Windows 7 is good but windows 8 is faster boot and it is more responsive, but its sort of confusing till you know how to use it. its not really meant for desktops.

bchurch 1 point 1 day ago

It depends, he might like Winbuck 8 better.

FrizzleDizle 1 point 10 months ago

You could have gone with a lower watt PSU and a case nearly just as good for lower price. Overall this is pretty good.

jackrzucidlo [1 Build] 1 point 10 months ago

Have you tried sli or overclocking with that board? I'm interested in getting it but i want to overclock and do sli with it so I'm curious what you think.

Flabawoogl 1 point 10 months ago

Is the Motherboard any good? I was wanting to build a PC with the same CPU as you, but the motherboard I had wasn't compatible. Thanks in advance :)

HCkev [2 Builds] 1 point 10 months ago

What about the motherboard? I heard this mobo throttles down the FX-8350 CPU when on load. Does it happen to you?

A GTX 770 is like a brand new video card, of course it can run crysis 3 and will run BF4 on awesome settings.

strojac 1 point 3 months ago

I did a build for $1005 on the dot. Pretty much this build, just I used a Storm Scout, a 4 gig 770,a wd blue drive, no cd drive, cheaper mobo and some G.Skill Sniper Ram.

fillapile 0 points 10 months ago

You might have dropped to the zalman z9 case and up to an i5, but still must destroy games!

LaserShow 0 points 7 months ago

why do you have such a high power source? that setup shouldnt put out 700 watts.

miniclipgamer [2 Builds] 1 point 10 months ago

...there's nothing wrong with this combination. This is like being brand-ist, not wanting to mix the two brands. Both are perfectly fine, in fact, I'm sure that 770 is great.
