At the beginning of the year when my Xbox subscription ran out, I decided it was finally time to get going to making the switch to pc. Fast forward to now, and the end result of about 4 months of research is a great gaming rig that is exactly what I wanted. I got everything picked out on Newegg, ordered it sunday night and the final package arrived on friday. I got everything put together almost without a hitch. The heatsink bracket and thermal paste were a bit of a hassle. Besides that, everything fit like a glove. I was even able to rip that Hitachi drive out of my laptop and use it for some extra storage. Instead of a monitor, I decided to plug it into my Samsung HDTV. I know a lot of people might scoff at that, but hey, i much prefer this to being hunched over like Shrek at a computer monitor. After the assembly and some testing nearly everything worked perfectly. All the major components were operational and nothing required an RMA. The only snag that I have had so far is with a faulty HDMI cable. Luckily, my GPU came with a spare that I could use. All said and done, I am quite happy with my research, and am glad to be a pc gamer now.
