This is my first pc build. I needed a computer for work (I do contract design engineering, which I use Solidworks and CAD heavily) and did not want to pay a premium price tag for a workstation. I did some research and this is what I came up with.
Case is actually a Cooler Master HAF 912 Advanced (includes 200mm fan on the front and 200mm fan on top as well as 2-USB 3.0 inputs in a converted 5.25" drive on the front panel).
Added the 140mm fan to the side for additional intake.
The pictures show a small fan above the PSU which I pulled off the stock CPU cooler, this has been removed, it was trying to run at 3000+RPM at all times and I couldn't handle the noise so I might find a space to fit another 120/140 fan in hopefully or just mount a 200 in the window instead.
I would like to overclock to 4.5 at least but preferably 4.8 or more, any advice would be great with what to start with or programs to use! I'm still reading up so hope to have it there in a few weeks still need to read up. I included before and after specs for "Fast" auto overclock using Asus TurboV EVO. Wanted to see how the voltage and temps changed. I want to OC in the BIOS unless I can get to my goal using one of the programs that come with the mobo.
Really want some feedback on ways I can or could have improved the build.
...Building this has also inspired me to begin working on a Gaming and Entertainment System for the living room to replace a future PS4/Xbox1
*Update note...I started the build trying to hit a $1000 budget just because it seemed like a logical starting point and that number slowly increased to a $1250 budget and beyond as I chose better components, so budget was not crucial but I did not want to go overboard if I could still have quality for a lesser price.
*Update note...I am still setting up the computer so I will post temps and more specs as soon as I can, anyone have suggestions for good programs to check this? I know there are a few out there just didn't know if there are any people prefer.
