The purpose of this project was to build a capable Home Theater PC, while keeping the costs low.
An additional goal was to make it as inconspicuous as possible. This involved purposefully obtaining a used-looking case, and doing as few modifications to the mostly visible (front) side as possible. The only changes visible from the front are the 8-bit Mario ventilation holes on the top, and the green LED (as opposed to the original red LED).
The original power and reset switch were preserved, as well as the controller ports (although they were left unwired to keep costs low).
Prime95 as well as other tests were run to ensure that the system is receiving adequate ventilation and no overheating is taking place.
Boot time is approximately 3-5 seconds, thanks to the UEFI installation and the SSD.
Add'l Tools/Supplies used: 1. Epoxy, mechanical screws, nuts, and other miscellaneous 2. Dremel
