Phantom Portal

Description

This is my Portal themed gaming machine. Only just got it finished so I've only played Portal 2 on it at max settings and this thing barely makes a peep. Will get to more intense testing later. Added the orange LED fan to the front to get the blue and orange colors, it's harder to see in the pics, but it looks great in person. Going to add some Aperture logos to it to finish the look and I'll update here with more pics and tested info.

As for the parts, I already had the two 1TB drives from old externals. Using the WD for my Steam folder and the Hitachi for music and other files to keep my SSD for OS and programs.

Very cool build, that's 3 portal themed builds now.

Yours looks pretty sweet as well. I can't wait to get some decals for mine to really complete the look.

I've got the 4gb version of that card and love it, just got my backplate for it in the mail so will be putting it on shortly.

As far as part choices and prices there are a few places I see that you could've saved but all in all good choices and a nice solid build!

I didn't buy from the places listed, this was just me throwing all my parts up there. I got the both TB drives from a yard sale for $25 total. And the motherboard/CPU I got as a combo deal at MicroCenter for $300.

Props :) Microcenter is awesome, I bought all of my parts there (could have saved on some by purchasing online) but I preferred going and getting them in person

Awesome build. Btw, what mouse is that? lol

Zalman FG1000 FPS Gun, thought it looked cool and was only $15 and I needed a wired mouse. Wasn't great and I don't use it, but it's cool for the novelty of it.

excellent looks good.

It's a good build and this is defiantly not an insult to your build or you at all, but why do people show off their build with portal 2? The game runs at max settings with intel HD 4000 graphics?

ksVPN [Submitter] [1 Build] 2 points 13 months ago

It goes with the theme of my build. Thought it was appropriate to play first. Plus the detail of even the newest games won't show well through a cell phone pick and that wasn't the point.

Did you attach 212 Evo before you fitted motherboard to case or afterwards?

Nice build! My build is almost exactly like yours. What kind of headphones do you have in the 9th picture?
