Description

Used mainly for gaming and some engineering related work.

FX 8350 clocked at 4.62 GHz on 1.37V. I'm looking to go higher with it, but it's healthy for now and dominating everything I need, so I'm not pushing it too hard yet.

H100i is a great cooler. really low temps

Crosshair V Formula-z is expensive, but when I saw it I feel in love and splurged. Oh well, it's aesthetically pleasing and pretty much the best AMD board around.

ASUS GTX 770 looks awesome and is fantastic, plows through all my games (BF4, Crysis 3, other random games), I plan on adding another.

Simple SSD for OS boot and some important applications.

NZXT Phantom 530 has so much room. Great Airflow, included fans are awesome, thumb screws made everything easy, and in my opinion it looks awesome. Also very high build quality.

power supply is more than enough for what I currently run, and semi-modular so it worked out pretty well

Basic monitor, I don't need anything too fancy and I want to add a few more without absolutely breaking the bank. Will eventually add at least one more as they look sleak and I need more than one for my computer work

Logitech G500s mouse is just what I need for most of my tasks.

SteelSeries APEX is great, super customizable, not mechanical but I don't mind that.

GPU Sagging a bit? Or is it just me?

atomicruns 2 Builds 2 points 13 months ago

I think it is sagging a bit.

jaredt 1 Build 1 point 13 months ago

it is

zupacolypse submitter 1 Build 1 point 13 months ago

I haven't noticed much of a sag in the games I've been playing. I could also just have some eyes that aren't very attuned to it, but it seems to be holding up just fine for me

Look at the picture of the case down on a table. Then look at the two pictures to the left in the picture roll. That's probably the best way to see it.

Ah, you meant physically. I feel dumber now, but yeah I know it's there i just haven't quite figured out a good way to get that to align itself better

I have two of those cards and they both sag. It's just a common problem with the Direct CU II cooler.

Overall I like the selection and build quality...+1 from me. I just hate seeing the blue RAM with the red everything else haha.

zupacolypse submitter 1 Build 1 point 13 months ago

I know, it drives me crazy too. I got a little impatient and instead of waiting to order the red ones I just bought the in stock blue. It's going to change pretty soon ha.

I did the same thing on my current build, too (better prices). I didn't think it would bother me much but it drives me crazy! I just ordered a new case so the colors work haha

zupacolypse submitter 1 Build 1 point 13 months ago

I'm hoping to swap mine out soon for a color that makes sense. But now I can't decide on black or red

atomicruns 2 Builds 1 point 13 months ago

Red would be my vote. It will accent your motherboard nicely.

Great job man, looks clean and the part choice + overclock gives it a great price to performance! +1 keep it up
