Due to the fact that my sister was taking the home laptop to university, I was to be without a computer other than a 2002 Windows XP Mesh computer that takes 20 minutes to boot.
I decided to treat myself and was going to make my first gaming computer. I spent a month on sites such as this one looking for the best parts with best ratings and value for money.
I wanted to keep the price around £1000, and I have managed to do just that. My friend an I built it in a few hours (he's built two before) and we had absolutely no issues with any of these parts.
The only problem we found was that TP Link had installed it's own network software which was useless. We uninstalled this and used windows own one. Also, the resolution wasn't filling the entire screen (Monitor is LG 24EN33V 24 INCH - £119.99 but couldn't find on the site) so I bought a DVI-D cable to see if that made a difference from the HDMI one. Turns out the issue was just in scaling, but I've heard that a DVI-D cable is better than an HDMI for some reason. That now links it to my TV anyway.
I've played all my games so far on max settings with great frame rate, not one issue with this computer. What do you guys think?
