Description

I got the computer put together and it posted on the first try. I'm in the process of moving everything over from my old computer so I haven't had time to work on overclocking. The prices have been adjusted for combo discount and mail in rebates. I already had a copy of Windows 7 Home Premium and the optical drive is out of my old computer. I'll be using it for light to moderate gaming.

Dawg77 submitter 1 Build 1 point 20 months ago

My bad, the psu was $29.99 and the GPU was $119.99. Thanks.

I have this exact same mobo. I loved it. Did you have any problems with it

Dawg77 submitter 1 Build 1 point 20 months ago

No problems with the mobo, worked great.

Definitely one of the best and cleanest budget builds I've seen in a while on this site. Great job man. +1

Similar to mine

Dawg77 submitter 1 Build 1 point 19 months ago

Did you overclock yours and if so, how did it turn out?

gabwars3319 1 Build 1 point 19 months ago

Oh i haven't built it yet

EcoMCG 1 Build 1 point 16 months ago

Hows the mobo dude? I am thinking of getting it. I love MSI !

Dawg77 submitter 1 Build 1 point 16 months ago

The board has worked great but I think I'd go with the 970A-G46 because it has heat sinks on the vrm.

EcoMCG 1 Build 1 point 16 months ago

im sorry im really new to this but what is a vrm?

Dawg77 submitter 1 Build 1 point 16 months ago

It stands for voltage regulator module. The 43 board doesn't have heatsinks on them while the 46 does. Sometimes it can cause heat problems when you overclock. I've got a slight overclock on my cpu and haven't had any problems.

could this support bf4 on high/med settings?

Dawg77 submitter 1 Build 1 point 15 months ago

I don't have BF4 yet but I'm guessing it should run it on medium.

I downloaded a bunch of games off Humble Bundle and have been playing them so I haven't had a chance to get BF4. It should easily run it on medium settings and might be able to run it on high. Thanks.

LacotaTheNarwhal 1 point 15 months ago

Nice build and great cable management! Can I ask how the GPU is working for you? I'm interested in getting the same card.

Dawg77 submitter 1 Build 1 point 15 months ago

Thanks. I'm mainly running older games such as BF3, Crysis 2 etc, and it does a decent job on them.

EcoMCG 1 Build 1 point 15 months ago

Hows the GPU

Dawg77 submitter 1 Build 1 point 15 months ago

Like I told Lacota The Narwhal, I mainly run the older games and it does a decent job on them. I'm sure it could handle the newer games but it would be on medium settings.

Camboy05 1 point 14 months ago

I am looking at the same cpu and gpu. Does it game well?

Dawg77 submitter 1 Build 1 point 14 months ago

In all honesty I downloaded a bunch of games off Humble Bundle and have been playing them. It's done a good job on the older games but I haven't tried it on the newer ones. I'm guessing it should do a pretty good job on medium settings, it all depends on the game I suppose.

Camboy05 1 point 14 months ago

OK thanks!

Jozmtr 1 point 12 months ago

Great build.
