Description

UPDATE: Got a scrap 250 GB drive so I threw it in there. Also went and sleeved my sata power cables, took off the connectors and then put them back on so it's a custom fit :). Haven't gotten to building a motherboard cover out of plexi then carbon fiber wrapping it. Kinda like the Asus sabertooth thermal armor. Expect another update soon

This is my first build for myself meant to game. Waiting for the AMD GPUs to launch. I'll wait for now. Just a couple of 80gb drives running the show now. Getting a 2tb drive and 120gb ssd soon. Gonna put this build under water and a 3rd monitor once I get money. 24 pin extension is on the way and I'll be sleeving it with parachord. My sleeve job is almost done. I'll update you guys when it is.

Part List

Lol everything I paid for on my own from my summer job. Not too shabby of a build for a 17 year old right?

Cru3L139 [2 Builds] 2 points 16 months ago

Would you care to elaborate on, "Under water."?

JasonUK [11 Builds] 4 points 16 months ago

Hopefully they're talking about cooling, rather than taking it to the beach. ;)

xBlood_Monkey [9 Builds] 5 points 16 months ago

Hopefully it drowns.

I love how the mouse looks like it is plugged up inside the case. Nice case.

Kinda early to post since it's a work in progress. Not sure to upvote or to say ..whathell.

xBlood_Monkey [9 Builds] 1 point 16 months ago

I sincerely hope you didn't pay over $200 for that CPU...

stormclaw11 1 point 16 months ago

Yeah. Especially since you can get something like, 20x better for only an extra $10.

ognynnad [Submitter] [2 Builds] 1 point 16 months ago

Don't worry I'll fix the price once I'm on the computer. I won it in a eBay action for 160$ :D

Hey guys a little update. Most of this pc went to my brother. I took the ram, mobo, and cpu. They're all going to my Powermac G5 case that I'm modding

Instead of a bunch of small drives that you could get in RAID, you could sell them online and get at least a 1TB Seagate drive. Also, if its PURELY for gaming then AMD makes a better choice for budget builds. I would also get a better keyboard if I were going to make a gaming build, and the cable management could be better as well.

One last thing, its pretty pointless to put a Micro ATX motherboard in a full tower case (NZXT actually calls this one an Ultra tower). The point of a huge case like this is to have lots of room inside for big parts, like large heatsinks, radiators, fans, motherboards, etc. This build would've done perfectly fine with a smaller Phantom 420.

oh man

VnXsL [2 Builds] 0 points 16 months ago

Woot! Me likey. LMAO Looking forward to the rest of the build. Was going for the Phantom case too. How is it? Are all the lights working? I've read somewhere that they have poor lighting connections so some of the LEDs don't work.

ognynnad [Submitter] [2 Builds] 1 point 16 months ago

Yes they're all working and got the case refurbished too.

RyneSmith [7 Builds] 0 points 16 months ago

Full tower with a micro board? Nothing wrong with it.. just curious as to why you did that.

Other than that nice build

Chazzy [1 Build] 0 points 11 months ago

congratulations, i think this is one of the worst builds ive seen on the whole website

xHiZoR [1 Build] -1 points 16 months ago

aww too bad you didnt go for the msi z87 g45 board lol it would have matched your color scheme

xBlood_Monkey [9 Builds] 1 point 16 months ago

It also wouldn't have worked with his odd choice of CPU..

xHiZoR [1 Build] 1 point 16 months ago

oops didnt see that lol well he could have maybe gotten a ivy bridge processor i5-3570k for about the same price and use that mobo. didnt see the processor lol

ognynnad [Submitter] [2 Builds] 1 point 16 months ago

Well this board is gonna get moved to my other case and I'll get new internals for this haha. Hopefully when the micro atx version of the Bitfenix Prodigy comes out

xHiZoR [1 Build] 1 point 16 months ago

ahh changine mobos? which processor will you be using?

ognynnad [Submitter] [2 Builds] 1 point 16 months ago

We'll see what is out at the time. Not gonna be super high end. Maybe like a fx- 6300. It's priced pretty good now so I'll see.
