Description

went easier than expected. I was debating on buying a machine from a custom maker but just decided to try and build one instead. puting the saved $$ towards video card. Still trying to figure out which high end video card to get and might as well wait since prices seem to be going down. left myself the option of going for a dual setup in the future. currently using a gtx 560 ti oc'd, any advice would be welcome. also adding a 2nd ssd for backup.
added 2 case intake fans(one lower left front and one lower right front) and reversed the top fan to work as a exhaust. ive run furmark and valley together for 10 mins and the cpu stays below 60 but the gpu can get to 84 c which i think might be high. I never measured it before in my older system which was a full tower. At idle cpu is 32 and gpu 29c, what is the avg temp range for the gpu under load? nvidias stated temp limit is 97c, i feel like the gpu temps should be lower?? no? thanks

Very nice small form factor!

The PSU is very much overkill however for the price I won't complain about it haha

I would've however gone with a low profile liquid cooler like the H55 or Cooler Master Seidon as it would have freed up a bit of space

+1 on the build! As far as GPU goes what budget are you looking at? I definitely recommend a blower style card

thanks for the feedback. no set budget for the video card but was looking at amd 290x, gtx 770 4gb, gtx 780. maybe amd since they are being used on ps4 and xbox one? im thinking the cooler should be smaller also. went overkill thinking i needed it with the less air flow in the smaller case.

Haha happens!

I'd say if your budget allows either the 290x or the 780 however the 780 Ti comes out on the 7th... check that out once it's out. Supposed to be amazing ^

You should move your graphics card to the top slot. It will get better airflow that way.

Yes, very nice. I was wondering why your CPU doesn't hit 7.9. I have the same one and mine does I think.

xBlood_Monkey [9 Builds] 2 points 9 months ago

Nothing gets 7.9 in Windows 7.

Starlana [2 Builds] 1 point 9 months ago

Yep, I had two 7.6's, one was for processes...lulz. You were right.

Am I wrong or are the Intel 4600 graphics better than that card?

xBlood_Monkey [9 Builds] 2 points 9 months ago

You're most definitely wrong.

Idk I have heard from various places that the integrated graphics are most comparable to the gtx 660. That is most likely wrong. Have you used the 4600 graphics yet? If so how do they stack up?

xBlood_Monkey [9 Builds] 1 point 9 months ago

I'd say they're closer to a DDR3 version of the GT 640. They're not absolutely terribad, but they're not for gaming either.

Okay, thanks for the comparison.

didnt run any tests with the integrated gpu but im now interested to see how it does. looks like the 560 ti might be better from this chart http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gaming-graphics-card-review,3107-7.html
