This was built by myself about 1.5 months ago.
Built specifically for Hardcore gaming, so I can play any 2012 game in High to Ultra Settings. For example, I always play Battlefield 3 at 1080p with Ultra settings, and it is smooth as butter.
That hard drive. Why? It's TERRIBLE for this build.
First of all, it's sized for a laptop. Second of all, it's only 320 GB for $160. Third of all, it's only 5400RPM for "hardcore gaming". Third, it's only SATA 3GB/s. Everything about this HDD is wrong for your system in every way. You could easily get a 3.5" 1TB 7200RPM SATA 6GB/s for under $100 and it would be better in every conceivable way.
And a 3 pack of Win7 Ultimate huh? And 32 bits at that. Have fun with your 3GB of memory and two extra OS licenses. (Incidentally, I should mention that installing all 3 will not actually give you 96 bits)
I don't like to get mean when I critique a build, but that shows that you just didn't put any thought into this at all. Assuming you actually built this and aren't just messing with us, in which case, well, you win I guess.
I take this build as horseplay
These prices don't make since....seems like you over spent.
Worst build I've seen in a very long time.
$460 for a 6950? you could have bought a 670 for that money, or 2 7870...
You can almost buy 2 7870s, they're like 250 each.
hahaha i already said 2 7870 :P
Didn't see the 2.
You literally spend half of your "$1200" computer on Windows?
Mister edgy troll build.
I assume/HOPE this is just a troll build. The lack of pictures helps confirm it a bit.
Absolutely Terrible! First off The Why you bought the 3 Operating systems is beyond me. And it is 32 bit which limits you to 3Gb. You Picked 8Gb. Second the Storage is terrible. It was made for A Laptop and it only 5400RPM. I don't think I need to go on. This Is the Worst build I have Ever Seen. I sincerely Hope this is a troll
2500K is better for gaming than 2600/2700K, especially when overclocked. The hyperthreading in the 26/2700 actually causes 2-4 fps less in games.
Plus, unless it's going to be used for multithreaded applications (unlike most games which only need 2-4 threads), the 26/2700 CPUs are not worth the money.
The build could use a lot of work aside from the CPU: 1) I have no idea why that RAM is at least 4 times the cost of what I paid for my 8GB. It's 4x2GB so it's not even going to run at Dual Channel speeds, and it's only 1600MHz. Yeah, it may be CL7 RAM, but not at that price...
2) HDD is 5400 RPM? Why??? Slower loading times, slower responsiveness overall, and not to mention it's a Hitachi... 3) That 6950 is a decent card, but old technology. Should of gone with either a GTX 670 or if you are an ATI fan at least a 7950 for ~ the same price
What I meant was with 1 1/2 months ago you could have gotten MUCH better stuff.. Like the new gen 3 ivy bridge... Plus you could have gotten a gen 3 PCIe like he mentioned above... you could have gotten alot better stuff for like 200 dollars cheaper...
