You get a crazy expensive AIO and 1070 but cheap out on a bronze rated psu? I just don't know **** sapiens sometimes.

ShadowCube 1 Build 1 point 2 months ago

Wait, the human species scientific name gets blocked out?

uberlizard 1 Build 2 points 2 months ago

I mean, he got a better one than in the list, but yeah

Lyrix 0 points 1 month ago

its because it can be used as a insult.

StevenPurps 8 points 2 months ago

Great Build, but I recommend putting the 1070 in the top slot, because when you have it in the bottom slot you are not using it to its full potential.

Matty_h submitter 1 Build 4 points 2 months ago

Thanks, someone else suggested this I will do it at the weekend, I didn't know the slots would be different. Cheers

NoSkillzJustGillz 2 Builds 3 points 2 months ago

also believe it would receive much better air flow and be able to dissipate heat more efficiently in the upper slot

LostElement 1 Build 3 points 2 months ago

Good build except for the PSU. When you can, replace it with a G2 series PSU (Not the NEX) or an RMx series PSU

Matty_h submitter 1 Build 1 point 2 months ago

yeah ill keep my eye out for one, thanks

joshzpants 3 Builds 3 points 2 months ago

oooooh that first pic +1

chubble123123 1 Build 2 points 2 months ago

This is literally what I want my build to be

NoSkillzJustGillz 2 Builds 1 point 2 months ago

research the FTW cards before purchasing but yeah this looks nice...every1 talks about the psu but an evga should be jus fine least shouldnt like burn down the neighborhood lol

StarBlazer457 2 points 2 months ago

Beautiful. Nice build, but I do agree with other guys comments on the PSU.

Matty_h submitter 1 Build 1 point 2 months ago

Thank you

Matty_h submitter 1 Build 2 points 2 months ago

I'm don't have much experience with psu's, but thought a 650w would be good enough for those components. And the bronze meant it would be as power efficient as a gold?

berlinger99 1 Build 3 points 2 months ago

It's not about the rating; more the quality of the components inside. Like the others said, upgrade to a G2 ASAP. You wouldn't want that one dying on you and frying all your new expensive parts.

Duncan034 3 Builds 2 points 2 months ago

I second this. The RM series from Corsair, the V series from Cooler Master or the G2 series from EVGA would be very good choices.

Matty_h submitter 1 Build 1 point 2 months ago

Cool thanks, ill keep an eye out for a better PSU

CartesianFart 2 points 2 months ago

That is a solid build! I don't know if you know, but if you have a microcenter near you in the US, you could have easily pickup a 6700k for a little as 50 US dollars more. Still a great build!!!

Matty_h submitter 1 Build 2 points 2 months ago

Im from the UK mate, but the 6700k was like an extra £100 :(

Jebus5000 1 Build 2 points 2 months ago

Good build! I have the 650w G2 with this case and it is a bit more fitting than the bronze one that you have. I got it for 65$ or so on sale, so just keep a look out. I will say the cables are stupid stiff, so I didn't enjoy routing them too much.

As for your AIO, consider moving it to the front intake. If you case builds with heat (unlikely considering setup), your radiator will continue to receive hotter air than it would through the front intake. You should receive slight better thermals. However, if a more knowledgeable computer genius would like to prove me wrong, I'd always appreciate the knowledge.

Zezainster 11 Builds 2 points 2 months ago

That's pretty slick dude. How'd you get that ambient lighting thing in front?

Sulaiman.K 1 point 2 months ago

Not really hard, You put one LED strip (facing the front panel) in the centre of filter vents using double tape, each time you adjust the led the lights will flash up on the edge of both sides.

This might not be useful in the daylight but in the night it will show the shines of LED. If you still want the lighting to be visible in daylight, you need to add two LED stripes near the edge of front panel to look like this.

Matty_h submitter 1 Build 1 point 2 months ago

one of the phanteks strips are really bright during the day, i only have one behind the front panel in the pics

Sulaiman.K 1 point 2 months ago

I use an NZXT Hue+, Lacks in daylight, Looks like Phanteks Strips are better. The NZXT HUE+ works far better indirect illumination in the lower light.

For me, This what it looked like in the night.

Matty_h submitter 1 Build 1 point 2 months ago

i havent tested mine at night yet, it looks better that you can change the colours as i have to have mine the same as the power button

Sulaiman.K 1 point 2 months ago

Connect your Phanteks LED Strips to Asus Aura header, you can adjust the LED colours.

Matty_h submitter 1 Build 1 point 2 months ago

Thanks, i basically bought the phanteks starter led strip kit which came with x2 400mm strips, i have one down the side and one just kinda hangs loose behind the front cover, ill get a pic over the weekend if u want

Pacemaker13 2 Builds 2 points 2 months ago

the position of your RAM seems wrong. Look in the manual of the mainboard for the right positioning.

If i am wrong, ignore me xD

But, really cool build +1

Matty_h submitter 1 Build 2 points 2 months ago

Thanks mate, i kinda just stuck it in 2 slots i didnt think it made a difference which slot

Pacemaker13 2 Builds 1 point 2 months ago

no problem bro

Duranarts 1 Build 2 points 2 months ago

I was so close to getting this case. Great choice man

DoctorLyon 1 point 2 months ago

Matty_h, what RGB LEDs are you using? What brand?

Matty_h submitter 1 Build 1 point 2 months ago

thats the phanteks starter strip kit, it comes with x2 400mm strips, didnt want the long ones as i didnt want to over do the leds in the case, some cases you can se the actual strip which i dont like, but i have 1 strip down the front of the case behind the cover, then one just down the side of the glass which isnt really visable

THriLLaH_KiLLaH100 1 point 2 months ago

Wow you have the same CPU cooler, case, and motherboard as the one that im planning to build. But that CPU cooler placement is sort of triggering my OCD. Can the cooler be placed somewhere in the middle so it looks even? Or maybe placed at the front middle so it doesn't look empty around that area?

Matty_h submitter 1 Build 1 point 2 months ago

No the cooler it for the processor which is in place on the motherboard

Balkhan 1 point 2 months ago

I think he's talking about the radiator. You can move it left and right on the slide out tray thing... I have the same case and cooler with an ASUS Hero VIII Alpha. Yes, the RAM sticks look like they are installed wrong.

Matty_h submitter 1 Build 1 point 2 months ago

Ah ok, I've moved the radiator now, but how do you mean the ram looks wrong? It can only fit in one way?

Balkhan 1 point 2 months ago

The Z170 motherboards have 4 slots for the RAM sticks. When you are installing 2 sticks, they never go in next to each other, there will be an empty slot between them. Look in the MB user manual. They will either be in slots 1 and 3, or slots 2 and 4.

Matty_h submitter 1 Build 1 point 1 month ago

Ah ok thanks I didn't know that! I will change it tomorrow

Matty_h submitter 1 Build 1 point 2 months ago

Ok the gpu has now been moved to the top slot, had to move the radiatior along a bit as the tubes were in the way of the card. Ive also added a small metal EVGA logo to the front of the case

SamDaPwner 1 point 2 months ago

What color Evolv is that? Looks black in pic #1 and grey in pic #3... please help I'm having such a hard time deciding on which color to get but this one seems like it would fit my build!

Lupa6 1 point 2 months ago

I got the black one and I have to say it looks really great and blends in lovely with the glass colour. I couldn't decide either though, they're all so nice :D

SamDaPwner 1 point 2 months ago

What color do you think this one is? Does it look like yours?

Matty_h submitter 1 Build 1 point 1 month ago

It's the grey one mate. It was a hard choice but the black is quite a bit darker

SamDaPwner 1 point 1 month ago

alright, ill probably get this one.

ALTN 1 point 1 month ago

Did you actually order from all the sites that were already priced for you?

Matty_h submitter 1 Build 1 point 1 month ago

No, I looked around on Black Friday. Most of it came from scan, over lockers and aria, gpu amazon

commodore64 2 Builds 1 point 1 month ago

Did you have to install the backplate of the NZXT X52?

Matty_h submitter 1 Build 1 point 1 month ago

Yeah it goes on the back of the mobo to hold it in place

avgjoeywong 1 point 1 month ago

How's gaming on that TV? Can you downscale it to 1080/120hz?

Matty_h submitter 1 Build 1 point 1 month ago

Yeah it's really good. Runs fine at 4k and 1440, haven't tried 1080 though

avgjoeywong 1 point 1 month ago

What TV is it by the way?

Matty_h submitter 1 Build 1 point 1 month ago

It's a 55" Samsung KS7000

Bonelessbeef 1 Build 1 point 29 days ago

Hey, nice Rig. I'm building somewhat almost the same. I just wanna know if the rig is noisy or quiet when load.

Matty_h submitter 1 Build 1 point 27 days ago

Thanks. Pretty quiet mate, obvs a bit of noise but I hardly notice it

Archibal11305 0 points 2 months ago

A amazing pc with a potatoe powering it but exept that nice build

uberlizard 1 Build 1 point 2 months ago

no, he has the wrong PSU on the parts list. He's got a 650BQ, which is fine, really. although I do agree that the one on the list is perhaps a bit on the potato end of the scale (or a lot)

Archibal11305 1 point 2 months ago

Ah than its ok

Matty_h submitter 1 Build 1 point 2 months ago

Yes sorry I forgot to change it, saw that evga 650 bronze on black Friday sale, it was 40 quid down from 80

Lyrix 0 points 2 months ago

Wow! pls put the card not in the last slot! and the psu is kinda... stupid....
