Turbo Tax Computer

Description

Excuse my crappy photos (did this in a hurry.)

i7 3770k - A processor that works. Gets the job done for the intensity of Turbo Tax!

Arctic Silver 5 - Actually works (good temps) unlike the crap that comes on GPUs from the manufacturer.

AsRock Z77 Extreme 4 - Didn't really need anything super special and this mobo is cheap/solid.

Corsair Vengeance 8GB - Looks cool, helps me run extra Turbo Tax programs, and BF4.

Samsung 830 SSD - Use it for my boot drive/important programs, boots windows 8.1 in seconds.

WD 1TB Black - Used to store movies, games, and music.

Asus 780 Ti - Very helpful for the graphical demands of tax work, and sometimes BF4.

Creative Labs Sounds Blaster X-Fi Titanium HD - Amplifies my Beyerdynamic Dt 990 Pros

Corsair Air 540 - Extremely Easy to route cables/hide stuff. Great airflow!

Cooler Master SickelFlow - Cheap fans that blow tons of air. Can be loud if not fan controlled.

Thermaltake 750w - Least favorite part of the build might replace with a corsair 860w.

Windows 8.1 - I use startisback and have it boot into the desktop screen, (Windows 7.1) no issues so far with compatibility.

Watercooling Stuff - Keeps stuff very cool for a lot of money.

ModRight Cables - Ain't nobody got time for weaving cables!

Fan Controller - Keeps the SickleFlows from sounding like a Jet.

Logisys Green LED Stick - Lights up the entire case with a satisfying green glow.

Asus VG248QE - If you do not have a 120hz monitor, I recommend picking one up. Makes games 100x better.

Ducky Shine 3 TKL/Corsair m65 mouse - Solid work fine for what I do. (Extreme tax clicking)

Beyerdynamic DT 990 Pro Headphones - Awesome sound stage and extreme clarity.

What's your TPS (Taxes per second)?

Toaast [Submitter] [1 Build] 3 points 5 months ago

Around 9999 TPS just barely passing the 9998 TPS minimum requirement for Turbo Tax

williamdjestes101 1 point 7 days ago

ITS OVER 9000!!!

Apach3 [1 Build] 7 points 5 months ago

that's some taxing work you're doing if you require liquid cooling.

crisptofu 7 points 5 months ago

i would say some turbo level taxing work with those custom loops

cooperred [2 Builds] 7 points 5 months ago

Don't even think this can run Minesweeper, let alone turbo tax. Quad SLI 780 ti's or bust. -1

If you want to upgrade in the future and be able do use Turbo Tax without frame time variances, I recommend the following:

Perfect next build for me except I will use 2 Intel Xeon E5-2697 v2s with 4 Gtx Titan Black editions.

xx116xx [1 Build] 3 points 5 months ago

It's wonderful... I absolutely love the theme.

Hakumisoso [2 Builds] 3 points 5 months ago

Turbo tax? Anyways... Nice build, considering g-sync? I have a kit coming in the mail soon. Should be awesome.

Toaast [Submitter] [1 Build] 1 point 5 months ago

Yeah, I want to try it out but I don't want to accidentally destroy a monitor.

candy [3 Builds] 4 points 5 months ago

You're gonna have to up your budget and upgrade some parts if you want decent frame rates in programs like turbo tax. It's pretty demanding...

Toaast [Submitter] [1 Build] 8 points 5 months ago

You are totally right. At the moment I can only run Turbo Tax on low settings.

tjb423 [1 Build] 2 points 5 months ago

Not sure if you guys are kidding, I know nothing about turbo tax, I'm 15 haha

juheebus [1 Build] 5 points 5 months ago

its a pcmasterrace joke :P

Toaast [Submitter] [1 Build] 1 point 5 months ago

Kidding. ;)

tjb423 [1 Build] 1 point 5 months ago

I figured as much but just wanted to clarify o.O

Attacker3 [1 Build] 2 points 5 months ago

Big Time! Quad Sli 780 ti plus an i7 Extreme... Even with that you will have you use it on medium graphics!

candy [3 Builds] 2 points 5 months ago

You sure about that? He might be pushing it to the point of spontaneous combustion

Toaast [Submitter] [1 Build] 4 points 5 months ago

Never to late for liquid nitrogen cooling.

candy [3 Builds] 2 points 5 months ago

Don't forget your phase changer and to delid the CPU and GPU while you're at it.

tbackous15 1 point 5 months ago

Just got that monitor about a month ago. Very nice.

Hakumisoso [2 Builds] 1 point 5 months ago

Would love some more, better quality pictures if you have the chance! Looks great man.

eggplant1337 [1 Build] 1 point 5 months ago

Awesome build! I love the colors. You should add the GPU to the loop some time.

Toaast [Submitter] [1 Build] 2 points 5 months ago

Funny thing is that in the near future, I might get a GPU water block with my tax returns.

linsyschopman 1 point 5 months ago

what's with all the air 540's lately... i like it! love that case!

linkomega [1 Build] 1 point 3 months ago

Love it. But 2 things: 1. You don't need startisback if you have 8.1. You can have 8.1 boot straight to the desktop. It's in the settings under the taskbar. 2. Monitor is 144hz, not 120. Best monitor on the market for 1080p, hands down.

Toaast [Submitter] [1 Build] 1 point 3 months ago

I use startisback for the start menu that you have in windows 7 and I also use the nvidia 2D Lightboost trick for my monitor @ 120 Hz hence why I called it 120 Hz not 144 Hz. :)

linkomega [1 Build] 1 point 3 months ago

Ah. I gotcha. Not really familiar with 2d lightboost trick. Does that work with any monitor? Or just 120hz?
