Don't be too proud of this technological terror you've constructed. The ability to destroy a [console] is insignificant next to the power of the Force. - Darth Vader

FlashTS submitter 1 Build 2 points 19 months ago

Very nice.

Johnston12 1 point 11 months ago

Heh heh.

bgiunt4 7 points 19 months ago

But you could have save money by... ahh screw it :P

dschutt84 3 Builds 4 points 19 months ago

hahah at that point whats the point anymore

FlashTS submitter 1 Build 5 points 19 months ago

Exactly, wifey wasn't shutting me down so I went full Monte.

Jimmy 3 points 19 months ago

What are the GPU temps? Just curious as to how much a single 360 rad can cool the CPU and dual GPUs.

Hakumisoso 2 Builds 2 points 19 months ago

Not to mention it is haswell and 2 overclocked gk110 chips.

Jimmy 2 points 19 months ago

Yeah, that's part of the reason I asked :P

Also, it's a standard thickness rad too, not even a thick one.

FlashTS submitter 1 Build 1 point 19 months ago

Good question, lemme check tonight, stanby...

FlashTS submitter 1 Build 1 point 19 months ago

CPU typically 32-50C and I'm checking the GPUs right meow.

theonelonewolf 1 Build 3 points 19 months ago

Nice temps :)

Jimmy 2 points 19 months ago

Thanks, so I guess a single 360 rad is very efficient at cooling a Haswell and two 780s.

FlashTS submitter 1 Build 1 point 19 months ago

Its done me well over the last few years.

Jimmy 2 points 19 months ago

I'm sure it has, what rad is it though?

xx116xx 3 Builds 3 points 19 months ago

I personally wouldn't have spent $1k on just one monitor. But then again, I wouldn't spend $6k on a computer.

FlashTS submitter 1 Build 1 point 19 months ago

Its currently collecting dust, bought it for the BF3 release and no doubt she looks good but the input lag was brutal. After about 7 month of frustration I finally got my BenQ @120Hz and will never go back haha.

Aaayron 1 Build 2 points 19 months ago

Whoa that's awesome. Sure to run minesweeper at a decent fps.

FlashTS submitter 1 Build 2 points 19 months ago

haha, geared up for BF4.

ExoTecher 1 Build 2 points 19 months ago

This is a build to be truly reccond with! What magnificents this build has, wish I had that kinda money to do that!

Nice work ;)

FlashTS submitter 1 Build 3 points 19 months ago

Thank you kindly, every new Battlefield release comes a new PC.

skemble 21 Builds 2 points 19 months ago

Nom...nom...nom...

HerpaLerpaDerpo 2 points 19 months ago

Damn.

SparkyOnPC 2 points 19 months ago

quick question, why'd you use a 700D instead of a 750D (750D has a big window)

FlashTS submitter 1 Build 1 point 19 months ago

Unfortunately that model wasn't avail yet, I got the 700D when it first came out.

SparkyOnPC 2 points 19 months ago

oh, lol I was like isn't the 700D discontinued? and then you answered.

theonelonewolf 1 Build 2 points 19 months ago

Lovely, how are each of the GPU temps?

FlashTS submitter 1 Build 1 point 19 months ago

Never really needed to check but I'll post some links up here in a bit.

I can't begin to imagine the purpose of a rig this expensive (world record MC FPS?). But...if I had that much liquidity available at any one time, and was looking to OC or game in an ultra-high end rig, why would I stick with a mere 32G of RAM and only 8x + 8x for dual GPU? Why not jump to 2011 and use the same Extreme version MB from ASUS and then get 64G of memory with 16x + 16x for my dual GPUs?

FlashTS submitter 1 Build 1 point 19 months ago

Well 32G was merely there for RAM preview in AE and also gaming, and I've never had 32Gigs before. The wifey wasn't arguing with the amount I was spending so I said why the **** not haha. 8x + 8x, meh I was more into upgrading my 2600k P67 gen and seeing the OC potential which currently isn't going too well with my particular chip.

Stability wise I can't get more than 4.2GHz without BSoD and or majoring stuttering while playing BF3 or any game for that matter. Sad Face.

Mediciu5 2 Builds 2 points 19 months ago

Does that ASUS MB have the RAMDISK like the Formula? If so and if that was a major selling point, I could see bumping to 2011 for that purpose alone. 64G ramdisk vs 32G ramdisk... :)

Yikes, I'd figure you could hit a lot higher than that. Good luck with it. Hopefully it's something easy to work around/through for you.

WickedRG 2 points 19 months ago

1,000 dollar computer monitor really?

FlashTS submitter 1 Build 1 point 19 months ago

Was a total waste of cash, just added to boast.

Jimmy 1 point 19 months ago

You should sell it and get a 1440P monitor that can overclock. I haven't heard anything but good things about the Korean monitors.

RyneSmith 7 Builds 2 points 19 months ago

Yup this is definitely a because I can build.. haha

Very nice!

FlashTS submitter 1 Build 1 point 19 months ago

Thanks man!

ilian11 1 Build 2 points 19 months ago

Since overboard and "because I can" is the mantra here, why not Titans?

FlashTS submitter 1 Build 1 point 19 months ago

Good question, was being lazy and did not want to buy a separate water block to install cause still at this time EVGA does not offer a Hydro Copper version for the Titans.

Gooberdad 3 Builds 2 points 19 months ago

Lots of money you did spend, Ummmhmmm. Strong the force is in this one.

Holy crap man. What a build.

ImElkay 1 Build 1 point 18 months ago

How is the sound card? Have you had driver issues like (apparently) everyone else on the planet?

FlashTS submitter 1 Build 1 point 18 months ago

Nope. Drivers work just fine.

ImElkay 1 Build 1 point 18 months ago

I though drivers were for hardware?

FlashTS submitter 1 Build 1 point 18 months ago

Dude, what are you talking about.

ImElkay 1 Build 1 point 18 months ago

O sorry I thought I was responding to someone else my bad.

Dustworks 1 point 11 months ago

but you could have gotten a logitech g602 which stomps all over the old G9x (I rly hate that mouse...with a fiery passion, just hideous imo, I would not take it if it was free) oh and as for the graphics cards... there are 6GB cards which you could've gotten with a waterblock(not preinstalled) for less

FlashTS submitter 1 Build 1 point 11 months ago

I finally grew up and bought the G502.

Really? Well as-is, his description and build are light years ahead of yours...

FlashTS submitter 1 Build 2 points 19 months ago

Tell me why I need to have a description anyways...
