Description

This is my first gaming/ video editing build and is an amazing PC for the price. I'm sorry I couldn't show you guys any photos of the individual parts as i didnt think of that when i was building it. The keyboard and mouse are good for the money to. The R.A.T is the perfect sensitivity for me, but if you have a sensitive hand, go for something with a higher DPI - supprisingly, it's really confortable! Ill put some benchmarks of it up on the website when i get round to it. It can run far Cry 3 at the very highest resolutions possible with no lag. Definately recommend the i7 3770k over the i5 4670k as it will outperform it on editing photos and videos and is still a generation older. Not planning on overclocking yet as it perfectly fine but when I do i'm going to put the 212 EVO on it. So, thanks for taking the time to read this, and goodbye. :)

The i7s in no way outperform the equivalent i5 line for gaming.

I didn't just mean for gaming, I do some video editing with my mate (who has an i5 4670k) and the same size files, I can render in less than 5mins whereas his takes up to 15! Its weird

Then add that to your description. i7s are designed more for professional work and perform better for video/audio/3D work. What you said in your description just makes you sound like you have no idea what you're talking about.

Better? Lol, I've never really done anything like this and its my only build, plus I'm 14 and really proud of it :)

You won't be able to overclock that in the future either as your on a b75 chipset, even though all ivy bridge mobo's have the ability to adjust the BLCK, but thats only going to give you a 3% increase in performance at the very most, any higher and you'll damage your cpu. You can only adjust your cpu multiplier on z77, z75,z78 and p68 chipset's, only those have the ablity to overclock

Cheers, so if I wanted to, would I have to get a knew mono?

*mobo

yes you would need one with one of those chipsets, so I'd just stick with stock speeds and if you eventually find you need more power and really want to overclock you'll have to upgrade that mobo, on another note if you want to fix up a mistake on a comment just underneath it says "edit" just click that and you can fix up the comment :)

An i7 works equally as well for gaming, it just has additional power for stuff like video editing and rendering

Also its hyperthreaded

But why didn't he get a 4770k or a newer gen processor?

uin12nerfer 1 point 10 months ago

he got his for $200, so it was $100 cheaper than haswell, in his case

Atechless [2 Builds] 2 points 10 months ago

That's GBP, so he saved about 75USD over the haswell going price, bout 50USD more than the i5k haswell going price.

Yup, I wasn't on that much of a budget but I thought the shop that sold me the parts did a reasonable price.

Why would you get a 4gb gtx 760? It doesn't have the power to really utilize more than 2gb.

Benzima [Submitter] [1 Build] 1 point 10 months ago

I could get the 4gb one for like 10 pound dearer from a shop so I just went for it.

Benzima [Submitter] [1 Build] 1 point 10 months ago

And I believe the 4gb one runs better on more monitors as I have 3
