Description

Hello everyone in PCPartPicker.

I made this cheap Celeron build here back in January http://pcpartpicker.com/user/DiamondRyce/saved/15ci

I went to AMD's Fan Day 2013 in San Francisco. I waited in line for six hours just to be in the first 120 people to get a free motherboard. Out of the 1000 people who went also went home with a free processor AMD A8-5600k. I am loving this processor and it capability of CrossfireX with my 6670. I also can play my emulator games from PSX and PS2 better than the celeron.

Please excuse my cable management as I am still waiting for my Xigmatek GAIA to be shipped to my house. (EDIT) I meant to say it has arrived but I have not placed it in my case yet. I am a college student so access to my custom pc is very limited. Please wait another week or 2 until I can get access again.

Stay Tuned for more benchmarks and pictures. P.S Just to Be clear, I only bought the PSU, CPU Cooler, and the peripherals.

EDIT1 = Updated to have more pictures EDIT2 = Mores Pictures and Benchmarks here http://imgur.com/a/C3SRC#0

About the 47-50 range. I was with my cousin. I will upload my pics to imgur as the album was only on Facebook.

I was lucky it was San Francisco this year. The first time they has this fan day was in Austin, TX. Next Year I believe it will be somewhere on the East Coast.

Yup it was. listened to music, watch whatever was on my ipod, talked to others, and get teased by workers inside showing us all of the free stuff.

I like how you have a picture of the Xigmatek Gaia box but didn't receive it yet. This is a nice extreme budget build with freebies!

Sorry I meant to say I did not place it in my case. If you look at the Gaia Pic it is placed on top my case. :) I will fix that.

If it isn't too inconvinient to you, can you measure the distance between the side grills to the back of the case. I want to know because I want to know if I can install a h80i in a pysh-pull configuration as well as two fans on the side grills....

Sorry but I sold the case to a friend of mine.

rustypuddle 1 point 14 months ago

If you want, I have this case. I realize it's been 19 days though... still need the measurement?

JaggerPT 1 point 13 months ago

I would like... sry for delayed answer...

I know this was built forever ago now so forgive me, but I have a question about your CPU fan+case combo. I have the same case and I want to get a good CPU cooler. Does that case fit the cooler well? Does the top of the cooler hit the side wall of the case? The cooler I'm looking at is the same height.

In the case of the Gaia CPU pipes are the only thing that is touching the side panel as seen in this pic http://imgur.com/a/C3SRC#22 .

It doesn't affect the performance. However if you want to use fans on the side panel you want a smaller cpu cooler less than 120mm. Your choice though.

ah cool, thank for your response.

Would a regular cx430 fit in the Cougar Spike? I'm new to PC builds and am looking to build a budget computer with these http://pcpartpicker.com/p/2IH0e parts.

If you can try to squeeze in at least a semi modular psu, if not the non modular psu is fine just have to somehow put all the wires in the drive bays. Heres my celeron build I had in here before the apu build http://imgur.com/a/zOM4B#6 .
