Description

Freshly built! Yes I'm a noob at this, tell me what ya think. Previous computer just didn't cut it any longer. Decide to make the jump and build one myself. I first went to one of those sites where you build your own pc and then they make it and send it to you - Bad idea! Price went up real quickly and parts weren't that powerful. This PC will be used for Mechanical Engineering Autocad, Reddit, and Skyrim, Call of Duty and many others.

Alright, guys CPU Temp at idle is at 37.5 degrees, won't go beyond 38. Yes it's not Noctua but it does the job and it looks good doing it!

Update!!9/21/13 I have gotten the cpu temps to 32 degrees. I updated all kinds of drivers!

I did NOT like the look of the cooler at all... and then I saw it in the case... complete 180 of an opinion! +1 for blowing me away

Azote [3 Builds] 3 points 15 months ago

Was the pictures a overview of the cpu cooler? ahah jks Nice build!

TheRealCheekyGit 3 points 15 months ago

Which would I prefer? A Coke or V8?

(Hitting head) Of course, a V8!

Nice build. +1

Captain.Aviator [1 Build] 1 point 9 months ago

I dunno though, that coke looks really awesome... Hmmm I would take the V8, sell it, buy a coke, then buy computer parts... :D

TheRealCheekyGit 2 points 9 months ago

You sell the V8, buy a few cases of coke, chips and salsa. Then call up some buddies and throw a killer LAN party.

Captain.Aviator [1 Build] 1 point 9 months ago

And charge a 5 dollar admission fee? xD

TheRealCheekyGit 2 points 9 months ago

If the money goes towards pizza and wings, I'll be there.

Captain.Aviator [1 Build] 0 points 9 months ago

Hmm. Okay but its a 40$ admission fee now :D

Hakumisoso [2 Builds] 2 points 15 months ago

iTz_Colorfull 2 points 15 months ago

How long did it take to save up this much money?

neptonium20008 [Submitter] [1 Build] 4 points 15 months ago

Couple of weeks, a lot of overtime and had to convince my wife this was a necessary purchase lol.

CbassFishin 2 points 15 months ago

Cooler so cool

Firecrackers [1 Build] 2 points 15 months ago

I loved how clean it looked! It's probably that massive case you got there. +1!

neptonium20008 [Submitter] [1 Build] 2 points 15 months ago

Thanks, the case is enormous. I could have easily chosen a mid tower case but my jaw dropped when I saw Storm Stryker. And I'm not even to fond of white!!! They also come in black but white looks very elegant. I guess also because I'm a big Star Wars Fan lol.

Firecrackers [1 Build] 1 point 15 months ago

Perfect! I hope that processor is GREAT for you. I bought an 8350 because I saw newer games leaning slightly to them. But there is so little difference between them I hope I didn't make a bad choice. And I think Sparky was saying you could have bought a 760, as it is pretty comparable to the 670.

~M.

P.S. I did the same thing, I looked at Magic Micro for parts, and they were pretty cheap compared to other assembly places, but then I found this one. And let me tell you I learned a nice amount about computers along the way.

dkevelx 1 point 15 months ago

Nice build, very clean.

Love the enormous-ness of that cooler.

neptonium20008 [Submitter] [1 Build] 2 points 15 months ago

Freaking Huge!

dkevelx 2 points 15 months ago

It's glorious.

dkevelx 2 points 15 months ago

Your title has a typo in it, just a heads up.

Automatic upvote for ferret +1

MichaeL925280 1 point 15 months ago

Sweet build. Love the case. my 1st build will use the same case. How is the Z87 Extreme 4 motherboard working for you? I am undecided on a motherboard fr my build.

neptonium20008 [Submitter] [1 Build] 1 point 15 months ago

The Asrock Z87 seems to be purring like a kitten, has a lot of cool features.

MichaeL925280 1 point 15 months ago

OK thanks alot for the input. How is the CM Storm Stryker's built in fan controller.

GamingPC69 1 point 15 months ago

If i were your wife i would have slapped you. NON NEGOTIABLE! Way to convince her to buy the parts, I'm guessing you're going to give her a new wedding ring soon?

Mediciu5 [2 Builds] 1 point 14 months ago

For 1300 bucks? She should ask for some mikimoto pearls... Or so my wife just said over my shoulder.

ilian11 [1 Build] 1 point 15 months ago

Nice rig you got there! That cooler if ginormous... temps at idle and load pls!!! And when will you OC, I want to see those temps too?

cannonbolt81 1 point 15 months ago

Does this motherboard have built in wifi?

neptonium20008 [Submitter] [1 Build] 1 point 15 months ago

Not the Extreme4 but the Extreme6/ac Extreme9 and others in the Asrock line do.

Any early opinions on that SSD? Was thinking about buying the same one.

neptonium20008 [Submitter] [1 Build] 1 point 14 months ago

Blazing fast, my computer boots up very fast. Haven't timed it but it seems like 15 sec. Shutting off is like 5 seconds! Not kiddin, I will try and time it when I get a chance.

dallaswilm [4 Builds] 1 point 13 months ago

Nice build! Did you have any issues with clearance using that cooler with the Corsair Vengeance Ram?

neptonium20008 [Submitter] [1 Build] 1 point 13 months ago

Not at all, I did show pictures of the cooler not touching the Ram

ill1337 1 point 12 months ago

I'm so psyched you built this with that case and cooler.

I really wanted to use those in my next build and I was really worried with clearance issues thanks!

DuhBossMeme 1 point 8 months ago

DUDE WOULDNT IT LOOK SICK IF THE COOLER WAS IN THE BLACK STORM TROOPER W/ WINDOW? (Its the same as the stryker but black). the red cooler would complement the black/red theme of the trooper very well I believe.

Major_ADHD 1 point 1 month ago

Where did you put your SSD?

BurgerBum 1 point 1 month ago

yeah im like over a year late but damn.... how did you get a ferret for a pet?!?!?! >_< its adorable....

IBIubbleTea 0 points 15 months ago

Wait. What kind of animal was that?

neptonium20008 [Submitter] [1 Build] 3 points 15 months ago

Ferret!!

Enlyten [1 Build] 2 points 15 months ago

You have missed out on life if you don't know what a ferret is :(

SparkyOnPC 0 points 15 months ago

Nice build but why a 670?

neptonium20008 [Submitter] [1 Build] 2 points 15 months ago

Best I could afford at moment.

theonelonewolf [1 Build] 0 points 15 months ago

Almost 1/2 way to a good 780. I would have saved a little longer and gotten one, but overall a nice build. Would like to see a full view pic of the entire inside.

+1

neptonium20008 [Submitter] [1 Build] 1 point 15 months ago

I'll add more pics later

Hakumisoso [2 Builds] 1 point 15 months ago

By the time he would've saved up for 780, new gpus would've probably come out.

theonelonewolf [1 Build] 1 point 15 months ago

Depends how much and how fast you save.
