Description

This is my first ever build. Built it mostly for gaming and some editing and Photoshop work. Wanted to build something that I wouldn't need to upgrade for a while and still max out all games.

This being my first time building a PC any Ideas for improvement is welcome I didn't really have a budget for it just wanted to build something that I wouldn't need to upgrade for a while

...Update.... spent some time overclocking the 680 and came out with some good benchmarks. Seems pretty stable too.

Do you work for Corsair?

edman545 [10 Builds] 4 points 17 months ago

Corsair makes cases too.

lol, no but I read lots of good reviews on the fans. Kinda worried about all the bad feedback of the h100, haven't had any of the issues with the 100i

Sweet build! How are the quiet edition fans on the H100i?

ehill [Submitter] [1 Build] 1 point 17 months ago

It does run a bit warmer than the stock fans, but it has stayed under 70C at 4.5ghz even after 1-2 hrs of 100% use.

hollatyourboy 1 point 17 months ago

Thanks. Are they noticeably quieter then the stock fans?

ehill [Submitter] [1 Build] 1 point 17 months ago

Do you utilize the 3D vision? And if so how is it? Was thinking of getting that monitor and a 680 4GB

Definitely will last you a long time. Does it get loud with all those fans in there?

ehill [Submitter] [1 Build] 1 point 17 months ago

No i am really happy with the quiet edition fans they are almost silent. I can actually hear the mech hdd over them somtimes.

That's great. Great cable management also. I had that case for a while so I know how much work it takes to make it look neat.

VERY nice build. Cable management is awesome too.

ehill [Submitter] [1 Build] 2 points 17 months ago

Thanks I probably spent more time on routing cables than actually building the rest of it.

time well spent

Nice Build man! I have a quick question I'm thinking about getting the H100i water cooling system and putting some aftermarket fans like you did on it, im wondering where did you plug them in for power?

ehill [Submitter] [1 Build] 2 points 17 months ago

They go right into the pump/heatsink with a adapter that comes with the H100i so you can control them with the software for it

Great build, top notch cable management.

One question though, what's that little PCI card beneath the 680? I'm guessing it's a wireless card?

ehill [Submitter] [1 Build] 1 point 17 months ago

Its a old LAN card a friend gave me, I was having issue with uploads timing out and it would only happen on this pc. I threw it in to see if it would fix it and it did. Not sure what's up the motherboard adapter, haven't messed with it since.

caneco87 [1 Build] 1 point 17 months ago

sounds like a driver problem. did you update the chipset and lan drivers??

ehill [Submitter] [1 Build] 2 points 17 months ago

yes, Just went back yesterday to look for new drivers and still same issue. Not worrying about it right now though don't really need that pci slot.
