So after a hell of a long time, I've finally built a gaming pc.
Firstly got to thank the pc part picker community for the help and advice you've given me, secondly to my buddy jason who plenty of time with me on the phone asking the most simple of questions.
A quick explanation on the name. PIFF is slang in london uk for Attractive/superior (I live near london uk)
At the bottom Im going to list the upgrades ill be buying next year once Christmas is out of the way.
some of the part were bought OEM to lower the cost, as i started this build just after i got my new job. ( as congratulation present to myself)
Ill add bench marks once OC'ed and new GPU is in as it'll be embarrassing other wise X)
Also excuse rule of engagements in the background....
The parts have been bought from various places:
CPU: Bought from eBay OEM.
MOBO: Bought from eBay once again no issues, and im really impressed with it
CPU cooler: Bought from eBay, and the only item i had issues with as it wasn't described fully and had many parts missing, which thankfully cooler master help me massively by sending me what i need for a very cheap price.
HDD: bought a 1tb 7200rpm barracuda, and using my old 5400rpm 2tb as music a photo storage ( once i get round to learning how to do it)
Ram: Ebay, ram prices just seemed to be constantly rising when i was looking, so i bought cheap and have oced to 1600
GPU: this is from my old build and will only be in for a maximum of 2 weeks im waiting to get paid then im buying a R9 290 and by the time i come round to ordering the after market 290s will be out.
Case: amazon, Its beautiful, cable management is good enough for a newbie, but no doubt i could do better, (tips please)
Psu: Ebay and is brand new, nice and powerful does its job 650w non modular was £2 less so the price was worth it.
Windows 7: eBay oem does what it says on the tin.
Extras: bought the orange trim for a total of £20 including the stealth cover.
Upgrades: will be adding an SDD, a gaming headset and roccat isku keyboard and maybe new/ extra ram but itll have to be low profile as cpu cooler take a lot of room.
Any input is welcome but be gentle, it my first ;)
Edit: Gave up of trying to get an aftermarket 290, so went for a 770 windforce instead !!
