Great build looks like it is a lot of fun.

I'd love to see more pics of the actual build guts and how you have it all wired up in that test bench case. ~

Curious what your temps are with that 4.6Ghz overclock when running Intelburn or Prime 95 for more than 2 hours? My h100i has me at 80c with a 4.5Ghz overclock after just 2 hours of full load.

Holy hannah that looks awesome

NickReid 1 point 14 months ago

I think he got Ripped off with the hardrives!

noob_for_life 3 points 14 months ago

i dont think so because they are solid state hybrid drives so the they aren't regular hdd

the 2 XT's in raid outperform a single WD red even at 3gbs and take up the same space which works for me , and I have a Samsung 840D Pro in the machine that mashes that Sandisk

DontUSASme 1 point 15 months ago

whered you get yours?!

onemanhitsquad [Submitter] [2 Builds] 1 point 15 months ago

at Staples , I believe that they still sell it, we got a third one just before Christmas 2012 , I see they show "out of stock" but I would check with the stores in your area for stock

Lowe 1 point 16 months ago

That looks EPIC

jakethemp [2 Builds] 1 point 16 months ago

sweeeet

Joe_Cool99 1 point 16 months ago

Even if you had to change plans a bit, you could've gone with a GTX 690.

Either way, awesome build.

onemanhitsquad [Submitter] [2 Builds] 3 points 16 months ago

I don't think you can get 5 monitor on Nvidia...

Joe_Cool99 1 point 16 months ago

Oh, okay. Didn't know that. Still relatively new to this, as you can see :P

onemanhitsquad [Submitter] [2 Builds] 2 points 16 months ago

no probs , always ask questions!

SuperBobKing 1 point 15 months ago

You can get 8 monitors with nvidia if you have enough graphics cards.

onemanhitsquad [Submitter] [2 Builds] 3 points 15 months ago

but not in "surround"...

kirbyloveszoe -3 points 16 months ago

AMD cards always handle multimonitor and high res far better.

Divdor [1 Build] 1 point 16 months ago

My dream system looks just like this. Please post a few picks of your test bench. Would love to see more!

Fastmaster7 1 point 16 months ago

Very good chip

onemanhitsquad [Submitter] [2 Builds] 1 point 16 months ago

Tricky [3 Builds] 1 point 16 months ago

I have to giggle at the "Fry Pan Test" LOL it's so life size

TestBuilds 1 point 15 months ago

Interesting case choice

onemanhitsquad [Submitter] [2 Builds] 1 point 15 months ago

I like using the "open" case bench style but you do have to keep a "swiffer" on ready standby ,and watch for static discharge

Basilisc 2 points 14 months ago

My friend's brother used a test bench with a custom fitted, hand made plexiglass casing that the test bench @ parts easily slide in and out of. I've seen picture, the thing looks damn cool.

onemanhitsquad [Submitter] [2 Builds] 2 points 14 months ago

that's an interesting idea...thanks

Lightdrive 1 point 15 months ago

Hey you used a SSHD drive in your build

onemanhitsquad [Submitter] [2 Builds] 1 point 15 months ago

I love the things , 2 make a great raid and the size is right on , the Patriot drive caddies I use do not support 6.0 sata so i cannot put the Samsung SSD in it , it is tucked up underneath on 6.0 sata. I have a 500gb XT in my Dell XPS laptop and 2 500gb XT's in raid 0 in one of the other machines and have had ZERO issues with them .

rhandyrhoads [5 Builds] 1 point 14 months ago

Great build but aren't you worried about dust at all? Also where did you get that crazy deal on the RAM

onemanhitsquad [Submitter] [2 Builds] 1 point 13 months ago

I bought the first pair for the original price , over $450 , when they first came out which was a few years ago , then I found a cat on Ebay about a year ago that had a couple of pairs and snatched another pair , this stuff was Corsairs top dog low latency at the time and since 1600 seems to still be the "standard" it has not really fallen behind

here is some as of today , it is 1.65 volt but I have no issues with it http://www.ebay.com/itm/Corsair-dominator-gt-4gb-ddr3-1600-mhz-2x2gb-AIRFLOW-FAN-/251267202355?pt=US_Memory_RAM_&hash=item3a80b13d33

lower timings and low latency are as important as MHZ and you can't find hardly anything "new" with cas 7 latency

Kalebtbacon 1 point 13 months ago

Love the Skull

onemanhitsquad [Submitter] [2 Builds] 1 point 5 months ago

haha...he has been in or on several setups over the years

superninjaleprechaun 1 point 12 months ago

wow.....

TheOne 1 point 12 months ago

Doesn't this test bench have 3.5" hard drive bays?

onemanhitsquad [Submitter] [2 Builds] 1 point 5 months ago

haven't been here for a bit ...yes...it can hold 3...I have 3 Patriot Convoy drive caddies in the spot where 3.5 drives would go ( the yellow things)

Neuenc [2 Builds] 1 point 10 months ago

All that bad ass setup and my eyes went straight to the VHS tapes...and then I realized those are the old(ish) box size of PC games. Very nice setup.

Taut0u [1 Build] 1 point 9 months ago

With this system you really should get a drone. look into it, its the ultimate video game. (just don't get caught)

swaggernaut 1 point 8 months ago

JonBallard 1 point 7 months ago

that is the most amazing thing ever

onemanhitsquad [Submitter] [2 Builds] 1 point 5 months ago

thanks...I have updated a few things so I will have to repost a bit...

MegaMcMarty 1 point 4 months ago

I think you should just race in real life after all you went through to make that computer and that racing setup.

levalencia 1 point 2 months ago

I would like to know why you need 5 screens? really lookgs ugly, what about the new LG wide screen of 33 inches?

jakehkills 1 point 2 months ago

Just realized it says you have a z87 mobo with a z77 cpu ;P And nice build

onemanhitsquad [Submitter] [2 Builds] 2 points 2 months ago

yep...seems to run fine...I will probably change it if I find a deal, probably get one cheap as the cpu's begin to come out but I am in no real hurry

jakehkills 1 point 2 months ago

Do they work together?

onemanhitsquad [Submitter] [2 Builds] 1 point 2 months ago

sure...the pictures show it running one of the most intense racing simulation you can get

jakehkills 1 point 2 months ago

Cool I never knew that

SeabassVar -1 points 16 months ago

why not just a 7990?

Xareh [3 Builds] -2 points 16 months ago

Ares 2? If you can find one, I know OcUK has about 7 or so left and they ship overseas.
