CPU Clock Rate

3.4GHz

GPU Core Clock Rate

860MHz

GPU Effective Memory Clock Rate

4.8GHz

Description

Selected based on recommendation from tek syndicate oct. 2013. The gpu should be the 2G5D but wasn't in the main list. So far its been running mostly well. After about 2 months of use I've been getting a "Display driver stopped and has recovered" error on medium graphic use (youtube, some games) but will run graphic intense games just fine. So still troubleshooting.

Seems solid, the only thing I might have changed is getting a FM2+ MOBO for upgrade-ability with Kaveri if you ever decide that Athlon isn't enough power. That psu is also a lot of power, are you planning on eventually going crossfire? Solid build overall and I'm a fan of that case, but you might want to have another go at cable management... Airflow from that bottom fan might be obstructed... +1

The PSU is overkill for the parts but thats fine, lots of extra power for future upgrades so thats cool, however, the cable management daaaaaamn sorry bro -1

Yeah the price for the psu was cheaper than the 500w version by about 5$ at the time, so I went with it.

would love to see a cleaner cable management of your rig. 750K is the right way to go since you have a GPU. The PSU is too much unless you planned to future-proof but you have a mATX mobo which means no CF capabilities.. you could have gotten a 450-500w and that's still plenty to power your system and the money you saved from the PSU is used on getting a 2x4GB RAM to get that "sweet spot" on RAM performance vs. cost.

Seems pretty decent, however, I would have gotten the 2GB 7850 (it's very close in price). I also would suggest cleaning up the cables a little more, use some zip ties or velcro straps to pull cables to the side. I agree with nikitaluger, the PSU is overkill.

The Display Driver problem is an AMD driver issue. My friend bought an R9 270x and the same thing would happen every few minutes. after a few days of troubleshooting nothing was working so he just returned it and got a GTX 760. That CPU was my first CPU and it bottle necked my GPU by around 50-60% with a gtx 760 so I would suggest for your first 2 upgrades to get a new cpu and mobo. And this bottle neck happened when the cpu was OC'd at 4.8 ghz. Still it's a very good build!

Been A while since I've been on here, but the problem stopped shortly after, I don't remember what I did, but it hasn't been acting up since.

Lol imagine letting your cat walk around your computer parts.

Molotov1990 1 point 8 months ago

i see nothing wrong with that when they're still in the boxes lol

I know, Its like what if you had your parts all laid out before you were going to build it and then you go make a cup of coffee and you walk back in and your cat is sitting on your parts.

Molotov1990 1 point 7 months ago

well yeah that would suck lol

Actually, with this case, he likes to sit on top and look out the window.
