the way you wired your GPU's made my nerd pants all wet...

Hey OP your build looks beautiful.

If you were to recommend a GPU for someone who is impartial to the brand of GPU for his first ever build would you tell him to go for gtx 670 or a 7970 ghz card ?

I also read horror stories of people having water cooling H100i fail and leak onto GPU and boards, Im planning on putting my worries to rest go with good air cooler and OC to 4.5 on i5 3570k which one would you recommend?

I'd like to see a link to these horror stories of leaked h100i's also corsairs warranty covers damages on parts if the product was faulty and not user error. The choice between a GTX 670 and 7970 is determined on which games you plan on playing the most. If the games you play the most benefit from Nvidia technology such as PhsyX then the GTX 670 would be a wise choice. However if you play games that benefit from AMD the 7970 would be the best choice. Overall though the Ghz Edition is the strongest card on the market however most of the good ones are discontinued or out of stock currently ;)

Thanks, which would you consider a good 7970ghz card?

Djangosp2 [1 Build] 1 point 16 months ago

The HIS IceQ x2 is definitely my favorite.

MSI, Gigabyte, Sapphire Vapor X are nearly the only ones I recommend.

Drerex [Submitter] [1 Build] 1 point 16 months ago

Agreed! I am a Nvidia man when it comes to gaming and a AMD man when working with videos and such. That is just my preference.

Fantastic job keeping the color scheme! Always nice to know that there are other people out there that actually care about making their system look good on the inside. It looks great! It also looks like one beast of a gaming rig!

Votivus 1 point 16 months ago

Great looking build!

Drerex [Submitter] [1 Build] 1 point 16 months ago

Thanks guys! I am actually selling this rig also. In process of designing a case that is going to give the small form factor world a run for there money. :) Kind of like the Falcon Northwest Tiki but with the ability of running SLI..

I'd love to see this come alive, do you have a link to show this off as you are working on it?

Drerex [Submitter] [1 Build] 1 point 16 months ago

I actually don't but if I did, I would have for sure posted the video.

nsyedhasan 1 point 16 months ago

Why didn't you go for an Asus ROG motherboard? Great Build!

Drerex [Submitter] [1 Build] 2 points 16 months ago

Funny how you ask that. I do side work for EVGA with there Precision X skins. I bought the motherboard using the credits I got from EVGA. I was actually wanting to get a ROG board. To be honest, this board has been very nice to me. Didn't have any problems with it.

where's your HHD

Drerex [Submitter] [1 Build] 1 point 16 months ago

Currently just running the SSD because it was more for testing at first. Will be adding a HDD for data soon.

Thinking of using those corsair red lining fans with my Phantom 410. I think it would be super sick. How did you get the corsair logo for the h100i to be red? thanks!

Drerex [Submitter] [1 Build] 1 point 16 months ago

You can change the color on the Corsair Link Software.

I'm totally thinking of copying this build haha. It's awesome! Great job!

Drerex [Submitter] [1 Build] 1 point 16 months ago

Go with a ROG board instead though. Just a recommendation.

iiLeGiT101 [1 Build] 0 points 16 months ago

I was going to copy this build but then I noticed with my 2,000$ budget I'm also getting a monitor haha. But anyways this build is greattttt!

Wow I'm jelly of this one, did the PSU come with red cables?

Drerex [Submitter] [1 Build] 1 point 16 months ago

No that was separate..

aragorn98 0 points 16 months ago

Great looking build. Personally I would get Maximus V Formula or Sabertooth motherboard. Looks so good. Nice colour scheme. No need for after-market thermal paste, stuff on H100i is pretty good.

Wytpony [1 Build] 0 points 16 months ago

I really like the color choice for the cables and the fan rings. Did you have to re-sleeve the cables? I like how the red color pops out of the black case. I love the contrast. Wonderful build, sir.

Drerex [Submitter] [1 Build] 2 points 16 months ago

I didn't re-sleeve these cables. I purchased them. I was going to sleeve it myself but before this build I just finished sleeving another power supply and just didn't want to do it again right away.

luisgerry57 1 point 16 months ago

Hey could you tell me where you purchased the sleeved cables?

Drerex [Submitter] [1 Build] 1 point 16 months ago

You can get them from Corsair.com

SrgtMacfly [1 Build] 0 points 16 months ago

Beautiful Build, I love the SLI and the look! The power supply is the only thing I can hate on in this build, as it is blue, I would have gotten a 860i AX which is red, just to go along with the build, very nice never the less!

Drerex [Submitter] [1 Build] 1 point 16 months ago

I got that power supply before the AX series. I know what you mean and already have the fix for that. Here is what is coming next.

I like it, never seen anything like it before!

Golden i7?

Drerex [Submitter] [1 Build] 2 points 16 months ago

Basically a CPU from a good batch that you can hit great overclocks at a low voltage.

Kofi96 0 points 16 months ago

are you gonna mod the side window to get rid of that ugly holes on the c70

Drerex [Submitter] [1 Build] 1 point 16 months ago

Na. I thought about it but don't mind the look.
