Been running steady for about 4 months now, only problem is the motherboard has 4-pin fan connectors and wont work with PWM fans. other than that its been great!
I thought PWM fans ran off of 4pin connectors... maybe I'm mistaken
Nice build and pretty nice price on that RAM, +1
You are correct.
EDIT: Just scrolled down to see that you already knew that. Damn phones and their tiny screens. :p
Haha np man thanks for reassuring
All connectors on the board are 4 pin, and yea I'm kinda mad about the ram, I want to buy another kit..... but I ain't paying that much for it.
He may be mistaking PWM for molex?
I'm not sure, but I am right about the PWM correct?
Yep. PWMs are ones that you plug into a 4 pin header on a motherboard and then can control speeds through Pulse Width Modulation software.
Ya that's what I thought but I hadn't looked at anything about PWM for awhile and was pulling that off the top of my head (now that I think about it I shouldn't have 2nd guessed myself lol)
how long ago did you build this? $300 usually gets you a 7970 these days
4 months ago before the R7 & R9 series was announced, before all of the AMD price drops. This was a pretty good deal on the GPU at that time.
yes, And my next will be a r9 290x
About 4 months, almost 5 now.
Pretty good build.
Does your CPU seem to be overheating? When OC?
no it never got hot enough to raise attention but it did start to become unstable at that high. ive clocked it down a bit and has not given me any trouble since.
