Description

This is my first gaming desktop. The computer will now double fps in games compared to my laptop. Since this was my first build it wasn't easy. Things being misplaced, parts not running, missing screws, eventually this got tiresome and I'm glad its over. My plans for this pc is to get a vr headset, add rgb fans, get a higher performing psu, and make a custom cpu water loop, build a wooden platform to keep the pc off the carpet, along with adding more storage for games. If you have any questions or comments on it I'd be glad to hear them!

Part Reviews

Good price point and power for gaming.

Amazing improvements to the H100i, keeps cpu cool and is easy to install. Fans are quiet and keeps thing at good temps.

Motherboard

Incredible gaming motherboard, RGBs are easily customizable and bright, the board has many headers for fans and usb. Comes with many useful functions and programs.

Memory

Affordable for the speed and has bright leds. It does its job and is speedy.

Good price for the capacity, using this for game and not booting.

Amazing card, RGB leds are bright and very customizable, the fans keep this cool while gaming, haven't played a game yet that was under 60 fps at 1080p.

This case is massive and very sturdy, any parts inside will be safe if you are moving it from the way it build. Big window to see all inside of it and has ample cable room. Great gaming case and made for lan parties.

You should move the GPU to the top slot so it will run in full 16x.

I'm sure that high-quality gaming motherboard has got at least 2 pcie x16

It gave a nicer look in the windows because then there is no view of it when it's up higher, I don't think it won't lose all that much performance based on the bench marking I've done.

Great build. Had a quick question. I have the same case and cooler. How did you fit the roof screen filter back on the top? My screen seems to collide with the h100i v2 radiator mounting screws when I try to slide the screen in. Thanks for your help in advance.

I went to ACE hardware and got flat top machine screws that were the same size. I had the same issue so I had to get the new screws. It should not cost more than $1 to get all 8 screws.

Awesome! Thanks for the input. I'll get those tomorrow. Glad they're cheap lol

Thanks for replying. I went and found those flat top screws at Ace. How did you make them fit though? I got the right size but it still sticks out. I don't want to force it to screw in more lol

they should be able to screw into the radiator just fine as long as they are in the corrects hole, double check to see if they are the same length, if they are possible see if there is a screw slightly smaller. Not sure what else it could be, i got the screws and they fit.

All or the cables are as tight as possible, if I try to manage anymore they won't reach or will be bent too much. And what do you mean by non matching memory.

I'm pretty sure it's perfectly fine, since adding the other stick my computer has been way faster. The company even sells 2x8 packs

nero626 1 point 11 months ago

that's not the point though, you need a dual channel kit to fully utilize the bandwidth

But.. They are the same model :S just sold at different price, I don't fully understand what is going on, they're the same model, company, and speed.

the cable running across is for the mini usb connector to the h100i. the cord is too short and there is no way for it to be connects based off it's length
