NeoLeeroy [Submitter] [1 Build] 1 point 14 months ago

You have no idea what I had to do to get the desk flat under my mouse pad :( New desk is next on the list, after finals!

jakethemp [2 Builds] 2 points 14 months ago

look on craigs list. I found a sweet ikea desk for about 30$ ive seen some really kick ass desks for cheap.

jakethemp [2 Builds] 2 points 14 months ago

also what is with the sound card do you have a surround system with the computer???

NeoLeeroy [Submitter] [1 Build] 1 point 14 months ago

I have decent headphones and a pretty ok 2.1 system. I do a lot of gaming at night so I have to use headphones to not wake anyone up.

jakethemp [2 Builds] 1 point 14 months ago

I went with a pair of sound blaster wrath 7.1 surround sound head phones headphones suck for gaming in stereo

NeoLeeroy [Submitter] [1 Build] 1 point 14 months ago

My sound card + those particular headphones give a really good and immersive sound.

How you liking that CPU cooler? I was thinking about getting that one. Also did your RAM fit fine with that CPU cooler?

NeoLeeroy [Submitter] [1 Build] 1 point 14 months ago

With room to spare, unfortunately I can't find that particular RAM anymore. Any low profile should do though.

That's quite a sexy computer, and the inside is sexy too :), I like it.

If you don't mind, I have a question that's a little off topic, maybe you or somebody else can answer. I'm trying to submit my completed build but it won't show up on the list. Is there something specific you must do or is there a waiting period? I feel like I've done something wrong.

Make sure the button marked make private isn't checked on your parts list and enable comments is checked on your completed build. Email philip using the contact button at the bottom of the page if you still have issues.

Much appreciated, thanks a lot!

Nice build. How are you finding the performance and sound quality of that Creative Sound Blaster sound card?

NeoLeeroy [Submitter] [1 Build] 1 point 14 months ago

Really nice, convenient software. It powers my headphones really well. The sound clarity is top notch.

TestBuilds 2 points 14 months ago

Really nice build, but one question: why the sound card? Does it sound noticeably better?

FlippantPixel 2 points 14 months ago

Do you like the mouse? It seems really funky

NeoLeeroy [Submitter] [1 Build] 1 point 14 months ago

It is a lot more comfortable than it seems, and it functions really well.

Kofi96 2 points 14 months ago

i see you rotated the side window does that make it better

NeoLeeroy [Submitter] [1 Build] 1 point 14 months ago

First thing I did! Kinda want to make one with no holes.

TheOne 2 points 13 months ago

Which DAC are you using for your Fischer FA-011?

NeoLeeroy [Submitter] [1 Build] 1 point 13 months ago

I wish I had one at the moment, but my sound card sound is pretty clean sounding. The built in headphone amp is pretty much the reason I bought it. FA-011s not amped are near disappointing.

noob_for_life 1 point 14 months ago

Really nice build. I have to agree with jakethemp that that desk has seen better days

Javanode [1 Build] 1 point 14 months ago

That's not the right keyboard! I got confused when I saw the red backlit

randomjester 1 point 14 months ago

Hey curious to know why you took a star rating from the monitor?

NeoLeeroy [Submitter] [1 Build] 1 point 14 months ago

The stand is as basic as it gets, I know this is partial my fault, but he viewing angle makes a difference in brightness if I slouch or stand up.

Azote [3 Builds] 1 point 14 months ago

Exact same case! :D

zypherstones [1 Build] 1 point 14 months ago

For the things you don't have rates on, is that because you're just neutral on them, or just got lazy? :p

Apach3 [1 Build] 1 point 14 months ago

how are you liking the Sound Blaster Z? i heard it was great, and i want to use it for my overhaul.

bentheboyer 1 point 14 months ago

So jelly you could spread me on toast...

luisgerry57 1 point 14 months ago

Hey didn't the graphics card recommended to use two different PCIE Connectors and not to use the same like you did?

NeoLeeroy [Submitter] [1 Build] 1 point 14 months ago

Good point, that's crazy important isn't it?

luisgerry57 1 point 14 months ago

Yes

NeoLeeroy [Submitter] [1 Build] 1 point 14 months ago

I checked, and that is the only combo of cables that fit an 8 and 6. I also couldn't find anything about needing two cables. Could you help me find a source?

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817116014&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction--na--na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID=

Connectors 1 x ATX / BTX motherboard power connector (20+4Pin) 2 x EPS +12V Power Connector (4+4 Pin) 6 x Peripheral connector (4 Pin) 6 x Serial-ATA power connector 2 x PCI-Express 6pin power connector 2 x PCI-Express 6+2 pin power connector

The link above is the PSU that you purchased, and the list of connectors I saw under details from your PSU. The 4th picture shows the connector ports of the PSU to connect more cables as you need them. In the extra cables that the PSU gave you find a PCIE Cable and connect it to the PCIE port on the PSU. That will give you an extra 6 pin or 6+2pin depending on what the PSU extra cables are.

I hope it helps.
