Description

Used mostly for heavy coding, graphics work, VM host (works great for 2-3 dual-core/4GB RAM VMs).

Cooling is a custom single-loop. GPU block (full card) and triple radiator are EK, CPU block and pump/res are Koolance. Tubing is UV-blue Feser PVC, coolant is color-free PC ice. Radiator fans are Scythe Gentle Typhoons and the back panel is covered with sound proofing, so the whole build is very quiet even under load.

Desktop theme is Soft7 with a custom rainmeter (uses speedfan and now playing plugins).

Why do you need 8 TB of hard drive space.

Have a bad habit of keeping my steam games installed and keeping everything I grab. >.>

Really, I probably don't, but 3TB drives were cheaper per GB than 1TB when I got them, so... (edit: they actually still are, if you look in the list) with a few hundred GB of code, a few hundred more music, a half-dozen VMs weighing 50-200 each, etc... it's nearly 1/4 full.

Great build. I was wondering why did you go with amd instead of intel? And yea... you also have a lot of HD haha.

A little bit price, a little OCing ability, a little to see how the cores handle VMs. It may not be the top edge for gaming, but with a quad-core VM or 2-3 dual-core, splitting things up keeps every machine silky smooth.

Added rainmeter widget and links to the win7 theme in the description.

Custom rainmeter skin, with foobar now-playing and speedfan temperature plugins. It's based on one of the included skins (nova), but redone to add more temps and better breakdown. I can post files somewhere if you're interested.

Would you recommend the FX-8150 for a gaming PC?

Yes. It might not bench the absolute fastest, but can push plenty of pixels and doesn't really choke on anything else. Had no problems so far. The only game that even considered choking was Borderlands 2, with PhysX maxed and running on the CPU (which is expected, as it's coded to run slowly).
