I feel like you would've been better off getting an i5-3470 with a 7950.

ebpapen [Submitter] [1 Build] 2 points 21 months ago

Im doing multicore/Thread rendering so the i7 was what i wanted. i have had good some friends who have a 7850 and they loved it so i just went for one of them. once i have done all the upgrades i really want i may concider a GPU upgrade but it wont be any time soon.

Jimmy 2 points 21 months ago

The 7850 should be capable in the majority of games at 1080p. Especially since you got the 2 Gb model.

Apach3 [2 Builds] 2 points 21 months ago

great build you got there!

how are you liking the case? i'm planning on getting one myself.

ebpapen [Submitter] [1 Build] 1 point 21 months ago

i really like it. the extruding back panel is really good for cable management as well as the rubber grommets. the handle is great if you are doing upgrade every once and a while and im never afraid its going to break because its really solid but comfortable to hold. Highly recommended.

Apach3 [2 Builds] 2 points 21 months ago

duly noted, since i'm likely to carry my PC around a lot for LAN stuff.

noob_for_life 2 points 21 months ago

Nice build!! Although I wouldn't put a h80 in your build because you won't be able to over clock.

ebpapen [Submitter] [1 Build] 1 point 21 months ago

Thanks :) cant overclock my CPU anyway

Smily 1 point 21 months ago

No, he's saying that you can't overclock your Cpu. The H80 is designed for people who are going to overclock. If you're not going to overclock, there's no advantage to buying the H80

ebpapen [Submitter] [1 Build] 1 point 21 months ago

i see, what CPU cooler would you put in to get better temp than i have already?

Smily 1 point 21 months ago

I'm saying that the temps you have already are fine. If you're not going to overclock (which you're not), then you don't need an aftermarket cooler

Ggadget 1 point 21 months ago

Smily, you're right. He doesn't need any better temps than he has.

ebpapen [Submitter] [1 Build] 1 point 21 months ago

I guess your right but i like big coolers thats all, like coolermaster V6.

fcabanski 1 point 17 months ago

You wasted money buying the cooler, and you waste money on the electricity to power the cooler. It isn't necessary.

SrgtMacfly [1 Build] 1 point 21 months ago

Completely off topic, but there is a cool single slot 7850 which I think would be really cool to own! http://bit.ly/My8RnB

ebpapen [Submitter] [1 Build] 2 points 21 months ago

i agree. i would be kinda afraid about temperatures though

SrgtMacfly [1 Build] 1 point 21 months ago

Yea thats the only thing that would keep me from buying it

Jimmy 2 points 21 months ago

Yeah, but I personally think the big two or three slot coolers look and perform better.

ebpapen [Submitter] [1 Build] 1 point 21 months ago

i agree unless your doing 3way sli/crossfire and need the space for airflow

Spirafall [1 Build] 1 point 21 months ago

Is that Rainlendar/Rainmeter I see? ( °D°)/ I recognize that clock.

ebpapen [Submitter] [1 Build] 1 point 21 months ago

no idea haha its just a HUD-Time gadget :)

Enlyten [1 Build] 1 point 21 months ago

Micro ATX? I would have gone ATX.

ebpapen [Submitter] [1 Build] 1 point 21 months ago

Whys that?

Enlyten [1 Build] 1 point 21 months ago

Future expansion... more RAM slots... CrossFire support... just why wouldn't you?

ebpapen [Submitter] [1 Build] 1 point 21 months ago

the MB i have is crossfire compatible, has 2 additional unpopulated ram slots so i didn't see the need to go ATX. Please tell me if im wrong.

Enlyten [1 Build] 1 point 21 months ago

No you're correct, I'm just blind and didn't see the second PCI. xD

ebpapen [Submitter] [1 Build] 1 point 21 months ago

haha algood, i picked it specifically for that.

BigBAWZ [3 Builds] 1 point 21 months ago

Very nice build, but one question... why the 3770 and not the 3770k? I mean its a couple of bucks more but I defiantly would have saved an extra $25-$35 just to get the unlocked multiplier.

Ggadget 1 point 21 months ago

But he got a locked motherboard.

ebpapen [Submitter] [1 Build] 1 point 21 months ago

Thanks BigBaws, Is it a locked motherboard? didnt really cheak. anyway i think overclocking CPUs is slighty over rated. more heat for very little performance gain. i think the 3770 has a better core frequency then the 3770k anyway so in my mind i save money plus i have never used more than 70% and when i was using 70% i was rendering 1080p 60Fps footage of Planetside2 so i think thats good enough for me.

Ggadget 1 point 21 months ago

H77 motherboards cannot overclock CPUs.

ebpapen [Submitter] [1 Build] 1 point 21 months ago

i see.

BigBAWZ [3 Builds] 1 point 21 months ago

Definatly overlooked that when reviewing your build. Sorry, my mistake. Once again. Its a very nice build.

ebpapen [Submitter] [1 Build] 1 point 21 months ago

Thanks :)
