Description

I am going to use this machine for gaming, video editing, and 3d rendering/animations.

The build went flawlessly, everything arrived in good condition, except the DVI cable, which had a bent pin, but that was easy enough to fix. Still waiting for the 2tb drive, but that's not really anything exciting

I was waiting for a while to order some parts, and I'm glad I did, since when I was making the order for the SSD, the EVO was already available.

The Dark Rock Pro 2 really is an amazing cooler. It cools the CPU really well, even when I pushed it to 1.25 volts. I got an OK overclocker of a CPU, it can run 4.4GHz at 1.2 volts, and 4.5 at 1.25. I chose to keep with lower voltages though, and I think I hit the sweet spot with 1.075 at 4.2 GHz.

The first 6 pictures are before I got the Dark Rock Pro 2. And yes! The memory fits perfectly under it.

This looks nice without the cooler. I can't imagine how bad *** it will be with that cooler! Nice build sir!

Thanks! Appreciate your feedback, I'll also try to take some better pictures later, with some shots from with the side panel on.

Nice HQ/HD photos. Awesome cooler choice. Too bad Amazon and Newegg don't have Be Quiet coolers otherwise, I would've gone and added that to my not-yet-built build. Lol

Most excellent build.

I just did a not dissimilar build and had to move the fan on my be quiet! cooler up by 3 fins to clear the top of the vengeance pro memory sticks on an Maximus Formula mobo. It's easy enough to do though. Still can't quite belief how quiet and cool my new rig runs. 8-)

Yeah, I did forget to mention that I had to move it up just a bit. Other than that, it was fine.

I've got the wifi card now. Will post pictures tomorrow, as it's already 10PM, and kinda dark. Posting from the PC!

The dark rock pro 2 with vengeance ram!!!! Link me with your sources that say that it is going to fit because I am also getting that cooler with low profile ram thoo.

msalihov submitter 1 Build 1 point 22 months ago

As you can see here the clearance is about 45mm.

On the Noctua nhd14 compatibility list, which clearance is 44mm, vengeance pro is listed as compatible.

Take the plastic off the motherboard.

Too lazy, sorry. :P

I will when I install the new cooler.

Like the build. Was going through the site checking out others that used the Dark Rocks Pro 2.
