Maybe the second one is on its way?

yeah sorry, I made some changes and now there is a photo with both 680s!

I just returned one, and added the second today. I will be posting a new thread tonight on reddit and will tryo to link it here. I also installed some LED lights but it is way too bright to see right now in my case. So i'll take some photos tonight and post them up!

Wow, what's this rig for? It's a little unusual to have an AMD CPU in such a high budget rig, do you have an explanation?

The AMD 8350 is not to be underestimated. Look here

3570K would perform better in games.

i don't disagree, but i wanted to stick with AMD for this build as far as the CPU was concerned. I am REALLY impressed and happy with the 8350 and I would recommend it to anyone who is looking to save a bit of cash while still getting a great CPU.

The 3570k would perform BARELY better in games. 8350 is a great cpu

to be honest, i've always been a fan of AMD, and the price was right at the time. I plan on doing an entirely new build next year to keep it high end and will likely switch over to Intel for the CPU.

I know it's unusual as you said, but i'm planning on overclocking this CPU and it really has performed REALLY nicely for me even at stock settings.

You're a fan of AMD?

Intel has terrible fans... if you know what I mean.

hahaha I like to root for the under-dog, but my next build will likely be a Intel build just to switch things up! who knows haha.

I would move that liquid cooler to the rear fan spot and then use it as a intake with a fan filter on it. I would also add 3 filtered intake fans to the top of the case because without adding those fans to the top the 800d isn't very good for an aircooled system.

hitsonblackgirls [Submitter] [1 Build] 1 point 16 months ago

Wouldn't it be wiser to have the rear and top fans exhausting because heat tends to rise? Honest question, not trying to be a smartass.

DjArtifact 1 point 16 months ago

The 800d is a little different with its airflow. It's main intake is a single fan on the bottom of the case which makes it not as great for aircooling. With an aircooled system in the 800d you typically want to add 3 intakes to the top of the case to prevent the GPU and CPU from overheating.

thanks, I'm going to order 3 scythe gentle typhoons for the top then and move the h80 to the rear.

DjArtifact 1 point 16 months ago

Good idea. Make sure you have the gentle typhoons as intakes and the h80 as an exhaust.

Will do. Thanks for the heads-up. I just ordered the fans now, should have them on Tuesday or Wednesday. I'm going to put the three typhoons as intakes at the top, H80 exhausting at the rear, and then move the 140mm that is at the rear right now and move it to the bottom as an intake.
