The Icer - First Build

Description

Built this a few days ago, running perfectly fine. The case for some reason didn't bring the stand off screws so I had to make my own. What do you guys think? I haven't installed the H100i yet because I've been lazy and I want to get the replacement standoff screws before I put it in.

This was my first build ever. I'm currently 13, 14 in a couple days. I'd say it turned out pretty well.

I run Arma 2 DayZ at 60Fps and 50 the least. Arma 3 I can't say but something like 45-60. Battlefield 3 at 200Fps Max and 80 the least.

I'm pretty sure the games I mentioned above have a FPS limit so don't take that as the highest this build can go.

Leave some comments I want to hear your opinion! My favorite thing about this build is the integrated RBG (Red, Blue, Green) board so I could change the color to anything I wanted to.

The mouse feels a little cheap but I can deal with it.

I boot up Windows in 8 seconds and the whole computer in 14 on Normal mode. On Fast mode I boot up windows in 4 seconds. Ultra fast, haven't tried it.

Ewwwww! CASE BADGES ARE GROSS! :D

But seriously.

xZeroGodXx [Submitter] [1 Build] 1 point 7 months ago

Took your advice and removed them, looks much cleaner now.

PacificNic [1 Build] 1 point 7 months ago

If you really want them on display, put them vertically on the right hand side of the MoBo tray. Not all but like the ones you had at the top. That can look quite tasteful

Your parents just shelled out all that cash.

nice build! very cool. +1

AmplifiedLlama [1 Build] 1 point 7 months ago

Very good build! how is the mother board treating you?

xZeroGodXx [Submitter] [1 Build] 1 point 7 months ago

Other then making me bleed I don't seem to have any issues. The Bios is extremely fancy (for what I'm used to anyways) so I don't have any complaints.

(When handling the motherboard, installing the CPU fan one of the back pins made a clean cut right through my skin I hadn't noticed until I saw the blood. Just put a band-aid on it and continued building. xD)

AmplifiedLlama [1 Build] 1 point 7 months ago

A fancy bios is nice. As for cutting you, hehe.

It's a love-hate relationship <3

Needs a better monitor 780 ti is overkill for 1080p. Nice build though.

joshj2398 [1 Build] 1 point 7 months ago

Agreed. One of those fancy BenQ 120hz monitors or the Asus VG248QE in 3 way setup or a 1440p monitor would be good for a build with such a beast of a graphics card.

xZeroGodXx [Submitter] [1 Build] 1 point 7 months ago

I will be getting a G-Sync monitor hopefully when it comes out.

Cool build, but i think you should have more fps in DayZ? Im running an i7 4770k and i get avg 90 fps on DayZ only difference is that i have mine at 4.2 Ghz. Also a tip for ArmA 2 & DayZ is that you can make the game use all 4 cores on the CPU and all hyper threads for improved performance in DayZ Commander :)

xZeroGodXx [Submitter] [1 Build] 1 point 7 months ago

I'm pretty sure I have a FPS limit, which is 60. I'm not looking to Overclock yet since A: I don't have my H100i installed yet and B: I don't really need it. If I'm getting 50+ FPS on all the games I've tried, what's the point?

Jared364 -1 points 7 months ago

You do know the CPU only adds maybe 2-4 FPS at high resolutions.. Just a pet peeve of mine that people assume the better the CPU the better the FPS..

Vas65mar 1 point 7 months ago

The mouse feels cheap? It is one of the best gaming mice out right now ...

bencs25 1 point 7 months ago

Now, I wouldnt say that. However, it is a GOOD mouse and shouldn't feel cheap; it should feel mid-high end!

xZeroGodXx [Submitter] [1 Build] 1 point 7 months ago

Don't get me wrong it's a very nice looking mouse and feels good but a little extra weight would be fantastic. The plastic feels good and all; but, yeah.

bencs25 1 point 7 months ago

I was shocked when I saw your age, but anyway nice build!

Alonminatti [1 Build] 1 point 7 months ago

Im building something of your likings, and I'm nearly the same age, a bit older, but still great build, and if you could, take a picture with the interior lights off and room lights on? It helps me see the direction you took cable management. Also, move the badges to the bottom of the window, it helps keep the phantom looking suave instead of tacky, no offense.

alexjc4lyfe 1 point 7 months ago

just wondering how good that motherboard is...any issues? it was my choice if i decided to do asrock for my build

xZeroGodXx [Submitter] [1 Build] 1 point 7 months ago

I already answered this, but let me just update you ;p It's a good motherboard overall and I would recommend it.

GOLD! Specific "Mouse Port" Helpful "Ethernet Killer Port" (Manages your usage quite well) Fancy Bios (Which I rarely see, SSD FTW) Looks very nice No issues with anything mayor what-so-ever

BAD! Making me bleed! (Very sharp bottom teeth! BEWARE!!!!) The output tray could of been done a little better.

If you have any specific questions in mind feel free to leave me a message.

EERR!!!! DOESN'T COOK MY BACON! Doesn't grow money. Doesn't make me sandwiches! (I heard the saber tooth does this.) Doesn't take me to places I need to go. (Not yet at least)

alexjc4lyfe 1 point 7 months ago

alright sounds good i didn't really look at the comments i just read your description and that was it lol thanks for the reply

e22rico 1 point 6 months ago

Nice starting of young. When I was 10 I knew hot to build a computer. At the age of 12 I built one (couple months ago) Now Im 13 so yeah.

e22rico 1 point 6 months ago

How did you get the money for that?

Phillipxia 1 point 5 months ago

Do u think its a large case? I think u don't need such a big case. Even a phantom is an overkill for ur hardware.

xZeroGodXx [Submitter] [1 Build] 1 point 5 months ago

It's a very large case, I liked the look and the style. I saw it for 150 and I said "Hey, why not!". I won't have to worry about space and it looks very nice inside.

Swainey97 1 point 5 months ago

good build Is the Asus VN247H good? How are the colours on this monitor and how you found the gaming on this monitor? How are the viewing angles because many people say TN panels are not too good.

xZeroGodXx [Submitter] [1 Build] 1 point 5 months ago

It's a decent monitor, I would of gone with a 1440p, and if I were you I would wait for G-Sync (If you have a Nvidia Card that is) I don't really see any angle problems, I have the VN247H in the middle of my 3 monitor set-up (for now) as I said, it's a decent monitor. I would recommend it if you're looking for a fairly cheap but good monitor.

Where does a 13 year old get $1750?

xZeroGodXx [Submitter] [1 Build] 1 point 5 months ago

I've answered this before.

TheDrunkenPanda 1 point 4 months ago

Nice build! The death adder is a really good mouse, at first it does feel a little cheap but it's a very rugged mouse, I've had it for since it came out and it still feels and performs great. I was considering the matte black (because anything in matte black is amazing toy, I don't know why) but now seeing your white version I've changed mind.

Electrospeed 0 points 7 months ago

I'd have bought a better PSU, but your is still pretty good.

Le +1

xZeroGodXx [Submitter] [1 Build] 1 point 7 months ago

For that price it was excellent. (Even though I really wanted modular because I have mini-OCD attacks xD)
