Build for the Friend!

Description

He's doing some light gaming and video editing. I chose these parts for him. I really liked seeing the LED lights of the Phantom firsthand, it was very bright and looked nice! No wonder it's such a popular case. I also like that it comes with a led controller, which is pretty nice. Cable management was alright, you can't see it through the side panel. The CM storm keyboard is very smooth and makes clacky sounds that are sexy to any human ear. The monitor was a bit small, but worked well. The PCB's on the Vengenance are green, but that doesn't really matter to him. Overall, this was a great experience doing my 1st from scratch build. Hopefully I'll make some for myself in the future~!

You didn't need a z77 board, but whats done is done. Honestly, this should run like every game with that monitor resolution. Nicely built!

Yeah I wanted to get him a good board because it was his first computer. He might want to overclock and upgrade in the future. But thanks for the compliments!

you cant overclock the 3470. you would need to buy a whole new processor. you should of got the 3570k in the first place

Spirafall [1 Build] 2 points 15 months ago

No, I think what they meant by upgrades is that they'd change the processor in the future.

yea, but they have to spend an extra 230 now, if they would just spent an extra 30 when building it, it wouldve save them money.

Spirafall [1 Build] 3 points 15 months ago

No, I meant, I think they already know they can't overclock on the 3470.

And honestly, I think nitro understands what he's gotten, but he already explained his choice and is sticking by it, so you should just cut him some slack.

No point in telling someone, "You can't overclock, you should have gotten this instead," when they've already told you "yeah, I know I can't overclock, but I'll upgrade this in the future, kthx."

I wasnt trying to be rude to him, i was saying it would of been beneficial if he bought the 3570k early on, so he saves money in the long run and gets better performance.

You weren't rude - just repeating stuff I think they already knew. No harm done.

They might not even be overclocking, just stuck with the 3470 and simply wanted a motherboard that had extra features just in case they wanted to do more - which isn't a bad idea.

Why is there a phantom case when a Fractal R4 is listed?

Curious as to the 3470 vs a 3570k for a little extra green and a lot of extra performance.
