After listening to my friends tell me about how awesome their computers were for gaming, I decided to do some research. I was hooked immediately. This was my first, clumsy attempt to build a PC with some assistance from some friends. I am now using it mainly for gaming and school work.
I selected parts to try and stay near $750 and ended up using combos from newegg to get some extra savings.
The build went pretty well, except that it wouldn't boot or sound any POST beeps when I first powered on. I ended up clearing the CMOS memory (using the handy "Clear CMOS" button near the I/O ports on the motherboard) which solved the problem. Also, the case didn't offer very many cable management options, so, unfortunately, the build is kind of messy (also, the audio header for the front panel audio was on the opposite end of the motherboard, which seems weird to me).
I would like to do some overclocking in the future, so any advice for potential upgrades (I know I need an aftermarket CPU cooler) or general tips would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks for checking out my build!
