Brothers World of Warcraft Gaming PC

So both me and my brothers Computers are pretty much identical and we both play WoW. We both bought the same components except the cases.

Big issue with his case is that it collects dust ever so quickly.

Silent case really quiet nothing bad about it.

Good thing about this case is its lights , it can show off so much because it glows really bright in the dark and looks cool.

Both me and my brother are upgrading to a R9 290 4GB card so we can play 1440p WoW and be future proof.

Current FPS with HD 7950 on Ultra 1080p 8xMSAA is around 60-130 in older area's Main cities like Stormwind can go down to 44fps and Raids can go down to 25 if lots of spells is being spammed on a Boss fight.

So when we go and buy our 290's we will have no problem for the next expansion :)

Oh and the reason the AC adapter was so much is because when he went to go buy an adapter AC just had came out and we have a 1600 mbps AC router now so good money spent.

Ask anything below/

you or your brother gotta dust that machine out bro like at least once a month, it's dusty as hell!

drusso5 [Submitter] [2 Builds] -2 points 7 months ago

yeah I know but its up to him not me. He will clean it when he chooses.

One thing I've learned, if a computer is becoming super dusty extremely quickly, the problem can almost be completely fixed by NOT having the computer on the floor, especially if it's a carpet. Resting the PC on a raised surface should alleviate the issue.

drusso5 [Submitter] [2 Builds] 2 points 7 months ago

his pc is raised , ill convince him to add an exhaust fan and see if that helps.

StarSide 3 points 7 months ago

You need some dust filters my man. May I recommend the Demci-Flex ones.

That will fix the dust issue.

drusso5 [Submitter] [2 Builds] 0 points 7 months ago

It has dust filters underneath and the front lol

nice build, but nearly $2k for world of warcraft?

drusso5 [Submitter] [2 Builds] 0 points 7 months ago

Yea we wanted the best we could get at the time

deathfromup [6 Builds] 2 points 7 months ago

I dont think that adding a R9 290 will improve your frames much in wow. I play on 1440 with an R9 290X and 8320 OC'd. My friend with a 4670k and 770 gets better frames. I would say if you play exclusively wow, i would go nvidia, it just seems to work better with WoW.

istealunderwear [9 Builds] 2 points 7 months ago

This i had a 7970 oc'd to hell and then moved to a 770 and i got a lot better frames at stock than a 1250/7000 7970...

deathfromup [6 Builds] 1 point 7 months ago

yeah since wow is so old it is very CPU bound and also has some real weird optimization. But I believe that intel/nvidia is the way to go for wow players.

istealunderwear [9 Builds] 1 point 7 months ago

True, Overclocking CPU really can do wonders for most MMORPGs. But tbh. If it was only for wow. An i3 would preform similar to an i7. Wow will only ever use two cores.

drusso5 [Submitter] [2 Builds] 1 point 7 months ago

Alrighty we will push to 4.6ghz and see if that changes anything also we will either get a 780 or ti or wait for the 880

bastille 1 point 7 months ago

how the hell did you get windows ultimate at $80

BlastXin 1 point 7 months ago

student discount probably

drusso5 [Submitter] [2 Builds] 0 points 7 months ago

my teacher gave me his Masters CD which I paied to use

istealunderwear [9 Builds] 1 point 7 months ago

neat build, but if you were to upgrade to 1440p get a 780 it's a much better choice for wow. World of warcraft seems to be nvidia favoured, for waht ever reason. But as i meanstioned early i had a 7970 ghz oc'd to hell and it got beat by a 770 at stock. by around 10fps.

drusso5 [Submitter] [2 Builds] 0 points 7 months ago

Alright we will consider Nvidia

Bando [3 Builds] 1 point 7 months ago

Why bother getting an i7 for WoW?

drusso5 [Submitter] [2 Builds] 0 points 7 months ago

At the time when we were building the computers I suggested an i5 , my brother went all aggro at me and said no today's the day we buy the best we can , so we picked i7. Besides that I utilize my i7 all the time so not just for WoW , since we always change what we do on our computers having an i7 is good for us. Also it was only going to save us around 100 at the time and we were already spending so much so it didn't bother us. Plus we are only now upgrading components such as the GPU which will most likely be our only upgrade path for the future until more then 4 cores get used in games.

Hey! How is that PSU performing?

James. [1 Build] -1 points 7 months ago
