Description

This build started as a way to get better performance than the new consoles and it became my addiction, I spent months doing research, watching reviews, and learning how to build a PC. And I'm glad I did, I didn't rush this project and it has all seem to come together perfectly for me.

I'm fairly new to PC gaming and extremely new to PC building, so please cut me some slack if I've made any mistakes but I feel personally that this is a great PC for me and a PC that I can grow with and learn more about computers with.

My future plans are to overclock the cpu/gpu and possibly add a full custom water loop but that should be a while.

I finished this build last night, And I will update it as I add components and overclock.

lovely build. It would be a shame if that pc would fall of your table.

clc810 submitter 1 Build 6 points 20 months ago

Appreciate it man, Yeah that thought has definitely crossed my mind. But where else would I put it? definitely not on the carpet.. The desk is pretty stable so I'm not TOOO worried.

user_Oats 1 point 13 months ago

Put it in the cupboard bellow: then drill some holes in the back for the cables. Next, place the power block and adapter into the same draw or mount the adapter to just bellow the middle draw. This way none of the cables will be showing and your computer wont be able to fall over either. It will also look pretty.

optx 2 points 8 months ago

There would be continuous recycling of the hot air in the cupboard. The 750D already has poor air circulation because of the front plate. Also, you don't get a 750D to store it away. Just put it sideways and hide the cords behind the monitor/stand.

vincent777 1 Build 3 points 20 months ago

i would get a piece of hardwood to put the tower on the floor, so the pc is more stable.

akaaman7 1 point 20 months ago

Or just pull the PC towards your mouse and stuff... Makes it less likely to fall over the edge. It's way too close to the edge right now.

clc810 submitter 1 Build 1 point 20 months ago

Thats a good idea, I'll probably do that! Thanks for the advice.

PacificNic 3 Builds 4 points 20 months ago

I would turn it so that the window is facing you as you are seated (front fans to right, rear to left). That way it's against the wall and you can still look at thos bangin' parts :)

Pcgamer20001 1 point 13 months ago

True my cat and dog would both push it off

CheyTac 4 Builds 2 points 20 months ago

Clean and elegant build. Good job!

clc810 submitter 1 Build 3 points 20 months ago

Thanks! I like your choice of parts in your build! They seem familiar... Haha.

AntoineB 2 points 20 months ago

This is sick bro! nice bro! good job bro! duuude sick! like dayummm!!

In all honesty this is an awesome build..

clc810 submitter 1 Build 2 points 20 months ago

oh great let me guess pewdiepie

theillesthaitian 2 Builds 2 points 20 months ago

nice build, i read your description and it sounds a lot like what im doing. great build once again, those cables are sick, wish i could put them in my build but the colors will be off

clc810 submitter 1 Build 1 point 20 months ago

Thanks for the complement!

Well just so you know they are custom made cables by ensourced.net so you could go there and contact the guy that makes them and ask for a color combo that fits your build more! He's the only person I know of that makes custom made cable extensions. Unless you did it your self of course.

theillesthaitian 2 Builds 1 point 20 months ago

thanks! i will look into that

clc810 submitter 1 Build 1 point 20 months ago

Yeah, anytime!

theillesthaitian 2 Builds 1 point 20 months ago

i was wondering for the site where you bought the sleeved cables, how reliable is the site and how was the shipping

clc810 submitter 1 Build 1 point 20 months ago

My friend is the one who got me into the site he had custom made ones too, we both love ours. The site is Ensourced.net I'd say the site is pretty reliable me and my friend never had any problems, and shipping wasnt bad. I got mine in 5 days because he has to make them. and that process is 2-3 days.

All in all I had a good experience with Ensourced and would recommend it.

Moops 1 point 20 months ago

Very awesome build. Any reason for the 4770k (even though it seems money was no issue)?

clc810 submitter 1 Build 1 point 20 months ago

Well I had gone and messaged more experience builders on this website and overclock.net and they had recommended that I get the 4770k over the 4670k because the 4770k has hyperthreading and apparently newer high demanding games are starting to use hyperthreading. And I was looking to get the best I could get (with out money being unreasonably high) and for it to last me a great while with out having to upgrade.

Thanks for the complement by the way!

canders 7 Builds 1 point 20 months ago

Nice job. Looks great. Enjoy.

clc810 submitter 1 Build 1 point 20 months ago

Thanks man!

Spbach 1 Build 1 point 20 months ago

This is one of the nicest builds I've seen, even though I've yet to build my first. You seem much like me, and I'm still researching for my first.

clc810 submitter 1 Build 1 point 20 months ago

Thanks! Yeah I spent A LOT of time doing research, If I'm spending 2,800 on a computer I'm making sure I get exactly what I want/need! haha

Yeah If you want my advice just DO YOUR RESEARCH. Dont rush the build.. Let it all come together when you feel its all perfect for you.

SparkyOnPC 1 point 20 months ago

this is pretty similar to my planned build..! http://pcpartpicker.com/p/2krCA

clc810 submitter 1 Build 1 point 20 months ago

Very nice! Every thing looks good to me.

iThoughtSheWas16 1 point 20 months ago

Great build. How much are you overclocking the i7? Also, how did you pay so much on the RAM? o.o

clc810 submitter 1 Build 1 point 20 months ago

I haven't overclocked it YET. Just built her the other night so I'm gonna wait a little, make sure all my components are working properly. And I think you probably meant "why".. and Its because I wanted high performance ram that would be stable and look REALLY nice at the same time.. Which to me it does... I know I'm a little shallow haha.

chowsownsomepizza 1 Build 1 point 20 months ago

Nice lovely simple build. Very clean and good choice of parts!

clc810 submitter 1 Build 2 points 20 months ago

Thanks! It took a while to get all the parts just right.. but I did it!(Atleast imo)

SethMatrix 1 point 20 months ago

The colors are nice. If only you could change the green led light for the geforce gtx logo to a blue led. Nice build +1

clc810 submitter 1 Build 1 point 20 months ago

Yeah, I agree but at least my graphics card sticks out! ..Gotta be positive haha.

PCModder 1 point 20 months ago

Cool case. The only downside to it is you have to be really careful with the front of it. One of the prongs that hold mine together came off and now it does not sit right. Corsair is usually pretty cool about replacing stuff but its still a hassle

clc810 submitter 1 Build 1 point 20 months ago

Yeah I had heard of that issue so I've been very careful with the front. Appreciate the warning though.

Aelon51 1 Build 1 point 20 months ago

Pretty much the perfect PC, IMO. Literally the only thing I'm wondering is why not 16GB of RAM...but obviously not required, just something you usually see at this high a tier.

clc810 submitter 1 Build 1 point 20 months ago

Haha thanks man. Yeah even though money seemed to not be an issue I still had a budget I was trying to keep. And I dont NEED 16gb of RAM just quite yet. But I will be adding it later on!

muellerdillon 1 Build 1 point 20 months ago

really nice especially for a first build

clc810 submitter 1 Build 1 point 20 months ago

Appreciate it!

rishi23 1 Build 1 point 20 months ago

looks sexy

clc810 submitter 1 Build 1 point 20 months ago

I agree ;)

XIscottyIX 3 Builds 1 point 20 months ago

Solid build mate nice cables. Corsair ftw!!!

clc810 submitter 1 Build 1 point 20 months ago

Thanks man! I got them custom made from "Ensourced.net" if youre interested. And Hahaha yeah, I'm a BIG corsair fan.

Daraaggon 1 Build 1 point 20 months ago

Fantastic build, really clean too lol +1 also, why 2x4GB RAM instead of just 1x8GB?

clc810 submitter 1 Build 1 point 20 months ago

Well when it comes to ram its better to get more modules because it spreads out the load of memory and makes it generally faster. Plus I plan to only have 16gb

Thanks for the complement!

Daraaggon 1 Build 1 point 20 months ago

Ahh, okay thanks for the info! Now I have to adjust all my planned builds lol

clc810 submitter 1 Build 1 point 20 months ago

Haha I adjusted mine COUNTLESS times before I finally got this. If you need any help with your build feel free to message me!

sgt1115 1 point 20 months ago

That keyboard looks so nice <3

clc810 submitter 1 Build 1 point 20 months ago

Hahaha, I KNOWWWWW! I love it.

ArrKayCee 2 Builds 1 point 20 months ago

If I decided to go z87 instead of x79, this is pretty close to exactly what I would have gotten. Nice and pretty!

clc810 submitter 1 Build 1 point 20 months ago

Thanks man! I like your build as well!

ArrKayCee 2 Builds 1 point 20 months ago

Thanks!

Tellement 3 Builds 1 point 20 months ago

Nice build! Looking very clean, love the sleeves on your wires.

clc810 submitter 1 Build 1 point 20 months ago

Appreciate it. I got them custom made by "ensourced.net" I think they came out great!

Bladedrummer 4 Builds 1 point 20 months ago

Bad a$$. That is all.

clc810 submitter 1 Build 1 point 20 months ago

Haha, thanks for your input!

JamJam21 1 Build 1 point 20 months ago

First build, wouldnt have guessed if you didnt say!

clc810 submitter 1 Build 2 points 20 months ago

Thanks! I worked really hard on building it so to hear someone say that means a lot!

JamJam21 1 Build 1 point 20 months ago

youre welcome:) hope you enjoy the gaming that comes from that beast!

nhall.bob 1 point 20 months ago

My favorite build on pc partpicker because it's not too extreme but it'll last a long time. And I really like the blue theme and it would be good for hardcore gaming at high resolutions.

clc810 submitter 1 Build 1 point 20 months ago

Well thanks man! Yeah I wasn't trying to go to crazy with the build. Just a high performance build that will last me a few years.

XDestroyer 1 point 20 months ago

Lol this is like the dream PC. xD

clc810 submitter 1 Build 1 point 20 months ago

Thanks! Its definitely my dream PC come true!

MrNipNips 1 point 20 months ago

Wow, you did an amazing job! Nice part choices and the whole build looks absolutely stunning. You obviously put a lot of time in to this and it shows. Just beautiful. I wish I had put the same dedication you did on my pc.

clc810 submitter 1 Build 1 point 20 months ago

Thanks! I did put a lot of time into it so for someone to realize that and appreciate it is awesome! I checked out your PC and it looks pretty good to me man! But if your unhappy with it you could always just add new parts. If you have the money that is haha.

Jumbosausage 1 point 20 months ago

You picked the right case to enable you to set a custom water cool up. Check the XSPC gear. I tube Res will look sweet in there!

clc810 submitter 1 Build 1 point 20 months ago

Yeah I heard that the 750d was a great case for custom water loops! (One of the reasons I picked it).. But XSPC? Never heard of it.. though I havent done much research on watercooling or watercooling parts for that matter. I'll look into it though! Thanks for the advice!

xxvolwarexx 2 Builds 1 point 20 months ago

Great build!

infinitemerald 1 Build 1 point 20 months ago

Sorry to be cliche, but this a beautiful build. Though, that awesome blue black and white sleeving really contrasts with that bright green LED from the GTX card. Not your fault though, still looks nice. Kudos, +1

clc810 submitter 1 Build 2 points 20 months ago

Thanks! I definitely agree on green lighting, I wish I could change it.. But I guess there is only so much I can do! Hopefully when I get blue Bitfenix Alchemy LED strips it will take away from the green lighting a bit.

I appreciate the compliment though!

infinitemerald 1 Build 1 point 20 months ago

No problem. That's the main problem I have with standard Nvidia cards, that's why I want to buy alternate cooler cards, such as the EVGA ACX Cooler cards, which are a nice black and gray theme. Check out the EVGA Superclocked 780 ti, ( http://www.evga.com/Products/Product.aspx?pn=03G-P4-2884-KR ) you may want to sell yours and trade it in for theirs, it would be a great deal! (at $130 more, though) Of course, it's your decision. By the way, you like the 750D? Was planning on getting it, from what I heard it seems to be really good.

clc810 submitter 1 Build 2 points 20 months ago

I actually was gonna get that one! BUT they were out when I tried to buy it and I had been waiting so long to build this already I just didn't want to wait any longer to be honest.

As for the 750d goes, I love it! The only problem I had was there were scratches on my windowed side panel from the hard drive bays rubbing up against the window (I guess during shipping) .... I contacted corsair about this problem but for some reason I have yet to hear back from them..

infinitemerald 1 Build 1 point 20 months ago

Hmm, Corsair customer service is always on and off between as good as EVGA's or as bad as ASUS's. You never know.

As for the card being out of stock: http://www.amazon.com/EVGA-Superclocked-Dual-Link-Graphics-03G-P4-2884-KR/dp/B00GMTGJIU

Not to mention, EVGA has amazing customer service, and they have a bunch of great accessories for their stuff (hint- they have their own custom PCB backplates for an additional $20 for their cards, they look really nice IMO.

DinoDan 2 Builds 1 point 12 months ago

I have seen another build where the cooler on the GPU was taken apart somewhat and they scraped the green off of the letters so that the LED Letters are White... that might look better for your color scheme but there is nothing wrong with sporting the Seahawk colors Blue and Green!!! GO HAWKS!!

Tre 1 point 20 months ago

Sweet build. I'm planning a similar one; just 1 q: why did you choose the sabertooth mobo and dominator ram? Thanks!

clc810 submitter 1 Build 1 point 20 months ago

Well I've loved the sabertooth since I laid eyes on it, But once I started watching reviews for it I found out its really a great board. And met all my particular needs. Picking a mobo is all about what you need out of it.

The corsair dominator platinum ram was mostly picked because of looks to be honest. I loved the way it looks! But obviously I wouldnt of picked it if it was bad ram.. Its very fast and high quality ram. I wouldnt recommend this ram to someone who is on a budget but for people who have the money to spurge then this is a great choice.

Flobengogen 1 Build 1 point 20 months ago

that looks like a very...very lonely desk

clc810 submitter 1 Build 1 point 20 months ago

Haha its usually pretty messy.. But I wanted the picture to be clean and nice so I tidied up a bit.

srccr 1 point 20 months ago

GG build, as it looks similar to what I have in mind for my build. Especially the color scheme :D How do you like your monitor? Been thinking on getting it for awhile now.

clc810 submitter 1 Build 1 point 20 months ago

When it came to the monitor I was looking for low response time and high refresh rate. A true gaming monitor... which is definitely what you get with this monitor. Its great, though I dont have much to compare it to. If I were you I'd wait for the g-sync monitors to come out though. The only reason I didnt is cause I had already waited so long and I bought all my parts black friday and I didnt want to buy all my parts and then wait for g-sync monitors to be released.

Goodluck with your build! Need any advice let me know.

PurpleLink 1 point 19 months ago

Dat URL.

iTzJohn 1 point 19 months ago

This may be alittle late but the blue cables are those Individually Sleeved Modular Cables?

clc810 submitter 1 Build 2 points 19 months ago

They sure are!

iTzJohn 1 point 19 months ago

Thanks for the help!

Swainey97 1 point 19 months ago

Great build

Hows the benq monitor because i was thinking about getting it for my new monitor ?

AminWinsGaming 1 point 18 months ago

BenQ Monitors Are Awesome

MrKickkiller 1 point 19 months ago

Hi, nice build you got! +1 . Could you tell me if there is enough space above the motherboard to maybe run push pull? I've been searching for similar builds but you are the only to have such an amazing build like im planning!

Pangurbon 1 point 19 months ago

Hi. Kinda a newbie to this. But If I were to duplicate this build, could I add another 780 Ti in SLI w/ the current PS and case?

AminWinsGaming 1 point 18 months ago

Well Um Yes Obviously

AminWinsGaming 1 point 18 months ago

But If U Have Extra Buck Get A 900D

thunderdan602 1 Build 1 point 18 months ago

Gorgeous build. Question, were you able to install that motherboard in that case with the back big plate attached to the back of the mobo?

Anthony21 2 Builds 1 point 18 months ago

With the HeatSink

Have you ever reach the 4.9GHz?

How good is the Graphics Card with it?

Similar to my Build. http://pcpartpicker.com/b/Hoh

Picture 1 point 18 months ago

DUDE that build is looking fresh!

ky1et 1 point 18 months ago

Very Nice! Looking to build my first PC in a couple years quite similar to this one. Big fan of Corsair here as well! :)

IloveSprite123 1 point 15 months ago

How is that keyboard

gregole206 1 point 15 months ago

Now you need a new desk.it looks very old whith your new pc

craigh 1 point 13 months ago

Very nice build mate! Similar to what im running. Im looking to upgrade my memory and was wondering is there enough room to get 4 sticks of dominator in that mobo? Only asking as I know the dominators are chunky units!

Some people are really jealous and do not know how to properly give constructive criticism. How about you try and not insult people you have never met in real life?
