I built this rig around 01/2012 for gaming & photo editing.

I overclocked the CPU to 4.2GHZ with a cooler from a FX8120.

GPU Is overclocked as well, 850/1100.

It still plays most of today's games on ultra settings.

Been using it everyday since build, with minimal shutdown times. Mostly runs 24/7 unless something internal is needed, or the occasional restart.

Since build, I have not encountered any problems.

If anyone decides to go with a similar build, I suggest one change to the motherboard by getting the LX-PLUS, which will accept 125W CPU's

Thanks for taking the time to check it out.

Sorry, but I can't help but say, those monitors are at a mighty weird angle o.O

Other than that, nice build! It's not easy to make a cheaper build in Australia due to price increases but you've done a fairly good job of it! :)

I sit pretty low, but I'm always adjusting them, lol.

I wish my desk is as clean as yours. Nice build

Nice build!

I'd recommend a beefier GPU for a future upgrade

Ecoboost [Submitter] [1 Build] 1 point 9 months ago

Yeah, at the time it was a great price, and worked for the purpose of the build.

I'll be doing an entire new build next, most likely will be going water cooled. :)

Looking forward to it!

With that CPU I'm not sure much more of GPU performance would be worth it. Probably the only thing I'd do is upgrade to a 6300 and a 7870/270x.

That was my second recommendation ahaha

That raptor drive is waaay over priced imo.

Ecoboost [Submitter] [1 Build] 2 points 9 months ago

I don't know what that pricing is about, they were around that brand new back in the day, but you can get them now off eBay for $20 or so.

Lol, I figured.

Why not Windows 8?

Ecoboost [Submitter] [1 Build] 1 point 9 months ago

I built this before 8 was released. But, I still prefer Windows 7.
