I think you need a few more fans

PickItApart 0 points 24 months ago

I've never seen a build with more fans. This build wins for the most fans.

CbassFishin 4 points 24 months ago

I think you really need more fans buddy.

Woah, I actually didn't think Renee would post this, big fan Renee (ahaha, get it... big fan... you gotta a lot of fans.... ahhhhh) Good job on the build.

sorry i dont know a lot about PC's, but i want to know, since she has two 2GB video cards, does that mean in total she has 4 GB? or am i wrong? also, where can i learn more about computers, i been meaning to build my own gaming PC :P, or at least pick good parts and have someone else build it. :D thanks

billyevans 1 Build 1 point 23 months ago

That'd be 2GB. You only have as much VRAM as your lowest-VRAM card.

CryshalRocks 1 point 21 months ago

http://www.reddit.com/r/buildapc is the place to go to learn about building pcs!

xMadmike01 1 Build 1 point 24 months ago

Looks awesome renee :)

Jimmy 1 point 24 months ago

That must be ridiculously loud. You didn't even choose quiet fans =P. Nice older build though.

lolrenee submitter 1 Build 2 points 23 months ago

It's actually incredibly quiet, just a gentle wurr of air-flow. My boyfriend doesn't hear it, nor does anyone else when I'm talking to them over Skype or streaming games. Granted, the PC is not sitting on my desk, although I don't know why anyone would put a full tower on their desk.

Jimmy 1 point 23 months ago

Oh, I thought the system would be on the louder side with all of those fans. Interesting to see it isn't very loud at all.

Mother of fans. o_o

I have to ask though, is the color really a violet? My wife and I have been looking for a pink or purple LED for her PC. Would be awesome if the NZXT HUE allows that.

IamApropos 3 Builds 1 point 24 months ago

I worked on a build not to long ago with the NZXT HUE as well as purple fans. Have a look: http://iamapropos.com/node/20

It is definitely purple and can be manipulated to different shades.

Destrokk 2 Builds 1 point 24 months ago

That is definitely what we need to be looking into then. Thanks. :P

lolrenee submitter 1 Build 1 point 23 months ago

The HUE can be any color. It can be hot pink, violet, darker purple. Any shade within the RGB spectrum.

TheDJ0014 1 point 24 months ago

Which part has the led ?

on_droid 1 Build 2 points 24 months ago

NZXT Hue. It is a RGB LED controller and LED strip. It will allow you make any color you want and change colors on the fly. There is even a mode where it will cycle through a bunch of different colors.

Nice build. Great, clean cable management.

I really like the fan mounting feature in the front of that case! I have not noticed other cases where the front fan mounting brackets can be adjusted to push air where you want it.

Bartmanicus 1 Build 1 point 24 months ago

I'm so sorry, I had to do it.

I'm a huge FAN of this build.

YouBaxter 1 Build 1 point 24 months ago

Aren't the fans at the top blowing in the wrong direction? Shouldn't they be blowing out(up)?

lolrenee submitter 1 Build 1 point 23 months ago

They are blowing upwards. Believe me, I triple-checked this to make sure. The two front fans are intake, and the top three as well as the single back fan are exhaust. The two fans behind the HDD cage are aimed at my GPU and CPU. The fans on the heat-sink are also directing air towards the back. :)

Marcopolo 1 point 24 months ago

Wow what a huge case

When was this PC built? Looks pretty solid to me anyways, but it could have been improved if it was built recently.

MrUnwrittin 1 point 23 months ago

Is that max's computer sitting next to your's?

OrthodoxDread 1 Build 1 point 20 months ago

Hehe I have the same speakers as lolrenee ;)

bearbird 1 Build 1 point 19 months ago

I know there's a lot of fans in your case. I just got this same case a little over a month ago. Believe it or not there's still some open fan mounts, room for two, on the bottom of the case. Just in case you need that little extra cooling "oomph"!

Ambint 1 point 18 months ago

I want this kind of purple :)

I don't think you should have bought 2 560 ti's...

lolrenee submitter 1 Build 4 points 23 months ago

One of the 560Ti's was free from a friend. The other was purchased at the time of building (February 2012). Affordability was a priority.

CbassFishin 2 points 24 months ago

maybe had this before the 600 series and 3rd gen i7

DjArtifact -1 points 24 months ago

Still would have been better off with a 580 if this was built back then.
