Unless the 4850's where free i see no reason to have them instead of a newer card?

Wow, absolutely terrible.

I feel like you went overkill on the CPU, Motherboard and PSU but doing so you used up all your budget before getting a CPU cooler, you have slower ram, only a 120GB SSD and your graphics cards are out dated.

Although that can always be fixed in the future with upgrades. Just in the future, you can cut corners in some ways but don't spend all your money on one thing, a well rounded machine is much better, in my opinion of course lol.

should've gone with a gtx560 ti, 16 gb of ram and a asus 1920x1080 2ms response monitor for a $100

It is a work in progress the 4850's were free. Monitors were left over. And there are 3 VM's running each in a 4GB ram drive.

I don't see how this is a bad build? Maybe I missed an edit, idk.

Can someone edify me? Because I'm contemplating something similar

Hi anderl12, I won't tolerate dialog like that here. Tone it down and be considerate please.
