So far so good, stuff seems to load faster now. I am coming from a AMD Phenom II X4 3.0Ghz.

Only thing I don't like about it is the fan sometimes it gets a little loud, but its not too bad, will replace it with a Noctua NH-L9i. My old CPU's stock fan was much quieter.

My Idle temps are around 25 - 31c using stock fan depending on room temp, much lower compared to my old CPU which at idle and using stock fan was around 50c.

Gonna upgrade this to the Intel Core i7-4790K 4.0GHz Quad-Core Processor in July 2015.

Very good processor, although if you have a need for overclocking you can get the 4690K version for $20 dollars more. But for a simple enthusiast this processor works perfectly fine

from completed build Custom HTPC Build October 2014

Plenty of grunt for transcoding and the extra cores to prevent stuttering if the machine is downloading, recording etc while you are trying to watch a movie and/or sream music. No overclock but can turbo boost to 3.9GHz if loaded. CPU also provides the graphics processing via the built-in GPU and at 1080p is entirely adequate.

Solid processor, all the power needed for gaming.

from completed build MY FIRST BUILD

No problems.

from completed build I shall call him... Bob!

Multitasks like a beast, it is a great CPU for the money!

from completed build PC for My Dad

Since this not going to be for gaming or anything intensive I wanted something decent but nothing that ran too hot.

from completed build SR2 Normandy

It's a locked i5-4690k, what else is there to say. Functions perfectly, and the stock heatsink is just fine.
