Reviews

from completed build The Phantom

Fast, reliable, & for the most part quiet on idle.

from completed build The Screamer Mk-1

I might make a few heads scratch by having two optical drives, but I wanted it like that as more of a nod to other computers I had. I wanted a Blu-ray drive to burn Blu-ray discs and to play Blu-ray movies on my computer as in the deep future, I may use this rig as a glorified home entertainment PC hooked up to a TV set.

from completed build Dark Rainbow

OEM drive comes with nothing, so need to pick up SATA separate. But works great! Also needs compatible software to play blu-rays.

from completed build The Beast Version 2

Best price for BR writer. Worth it , probably not since BR sucks when it comes to writing and you have to have a freaking $90 software to have any luck, still not LGs fault and DVD/CD RW is as you would expect with fastest RW speeds to date.

from completed build Gaming Machine 2015

If you like to watch blu-ray or need to do data backup this drive will be amazing. The write and read speed of blu-ray is only 2x but for CDs and DVDs it is blazing fast.

from completed build "White Wolf"

This is actually the Blu-Ray drive from my "Shell Shock" build. I was not using it at all and my brother has a big Blu-Ray collection so I just sold it to him. He loves it already.

from completed build Batpooter!!

Blu-ray drive came from step dad's work as well. Never used.

from completed build i7s-gtx980-modest

Came as OEM, no software or cables, but wasn't expensive at all. Reviews looked decent and wasn't much more than a DVD-RW. Note that as of this writing, I've not testing BD read/write yet, but it's fine for DVD stuff.

from completed build 5930K "The Great Journey"

I originally had no plans to put this in and was running an old R/W out of a trashed Dell, but after looking at the PC after it's "completion" I decided that I wanted the higher end when it came to watching a movie or burning a disk. For $50? I'm in.
