if you are on a tight budget I would say just get a EVO and get it over with.
Pros: Keeps its nice and cool and its really quiet.
Cons: Hard to install and tubing is stiff but its to be expected.
I got this to use w/a kraken G10 and my 290 reference and it worked really well. HOWEVER this and the kraken was not a straight up bold on procedure for me. The block wasn't making contact with my gpu for some reason (the die was too short?) so I cut out an aluminum shim that would cover the GPU and then make contact with the H50 block. After that everything worked wonderfully. Heaven and Valley top out at 72 (vs 90s stock) and it us HUGELY quieter under load than the reference cooler was.
Works really well! CPU idles at 28-33C and maxes out around 48-50C. Also I really like the way it looks. I had an aircooler initially, but I returned it, and I have no regrets. I was adamant about putting the rad in the front. This made the CPU cable management a bit tougher. I couldn't use the case's cutout for it, so it's going by my GPU and behind the rad for a bit, but it's okay--not at all a nuisance.
I was really hesitant with this buy, I previously had the 212 evo and the reviews are all over the place whether the H50 was worse or the same than either that or the Cryorig H7. I think it's better, my temps are fantastic, sporting ~21-23 C at idle and less than 60 C under load with my 4.4 Ghz overclock. I did add the extra fan in order to push air through and then out the back of the case, but that's no big deal. I still may upgrade to the H100i later, but for right now, I'm very happy with this cooler. Plus, it just looks so much cleaner than it's air cooling counterparts.
Five stars for performance to cost ratio
Quiet and Cool
Installation was a pain in the ***. They sent the wrong back plate so we ended up having to "refit" it to get it working. Not a huge fan of the "insert the water block and twist" design. It's an older design though and from what I've seen the newer ones are better. Recommend getting one of the newer ones if you are going for a 120mm
