Reviews

from completed build The Event Horizon

Disclaimer: I haven't had this for long.

The build is very sturdy. The modular design is fantastic, though that has made cable management a bit tricky. However, I have no experience with other PSUs, so this may certainly be an upgrade from semi or non-modular PSUs. What particularly appealed is the 80+ Gold rating, which means I can use my computer at ease without worrying too much about inefficient power usage or some freak accident that would kill all my other components.

Seasonic OEM. Modular. Silent even when the fan is on. Perfect power supply.

from completed build Deep Sea Creature

I wanted the 650w version, but I refuse to order from NCIX anymore and Memory Express was sold out, so only amazon had them for Around $150. Settled for the 550w, fully modular is super nice, way better than my non modular XFX.

from completed build Horny for an Upgrade

Seems like a badass PSU to me but it's my first one. It's tier 2 fully modular gold rated 550w. Got it so I don't have to get a better PSU when I upgrade my CPU and GPU. 64$ through newegg after rebate

from completed build Orocobix

Because of my case I needed a modular power supply that did enough to keep me going. The EVGA 550W GS was more than enough for all the components and it even has a Eco Button to help with power consumption. I like the feel of it and it is actually the quietest piece in my build. Have cables for one more GPU for the future! Pro: Eco button help with minimizing fan power consumption. Gold certified Con: Main power switch isnt labeled On/Off. Thought I had a dead mobo but turns out I didnt even turn it on.

from completed build Codex - First build!

Gold rated, and has all black cables. No colorful ugly cables. Awesome PSU.

from completed build Next Gen Mini ITX

I was surprised to see this came with a jumper tool so I didn't have to go find a paper clip. This was recommended to me buy a staff member at microcenter, no issues yet. Only using it until I can get my psu out of my previous PC.

I love EVGA's customer support line. I was missing some SATA cables from the box and they overnighted them to me. They do wonders for me.

Amazing modular power supply.

from completed build Murphy's Law

Had I done more research, I might have gone with the 550 G2. Nevertheless, it's a good power supply. It's very quiet, and powers all of my components just fine. It should last me for a while, but it'll keep me from ever using an R9 390.
